Yeah, this alone makes the lockout worth it. Just beautiful to get all this done so quickly.

We saw the effects of this last year too, when they gave these vets so much cash. Paying the vets over unproven rookies was supposed to happen, even though Hurney went overboard with it.

If someone is gonna get overpaid, rather throw too much at a vet at least knowing what we're gonna get than see it go totally down the tubes on a bust.

We were able to sign all those FA last year because of this too I assume.

Not having to spend big on Cam and now Kuechly meant more money to give to vets. Maybe thats why Hurney overpaid a little too, fearing losing them as the 31 (well maybe not all 31) other teams have lotsa cap room coming up too.

Let's not make excuses for Hurney. In fact, I think he had the hometown concept backwards since he seemed to think it made sense to pay 20% over market to keep players on the roster instead of getting some kind of discount. No team offered anywhere near what the Panthers did for CJ or DeAngelo, and there was no rush to lock up Godfrey or TD either since they were still questionable and a year away from free agency.

I would prefer a real GM, as opposed to a former sportswriter. Imagine Cuckold Gantt as a GM?

    He would:

    A) Ban #87. Not retire it, ban it.

    B) Draft an App St. player every year.

    C) Put a statue of himself outside the stadium, with the inscription "I'm an NFL GM, and you're not, Collin. And quit saying shit about my wife and Moose. I'm NOT a cuckold! I'm a well respected NFL executive with a perfectly functional penis. My wife would never take it doggystyle from a well-endowed black man in the locker room showers after the Redskins game in 2003."
