our future is a couple years off. The truth is, Jarrett's under contract one year longer tham Muhsin and I doubt he's gone anytime soon. So, hey, let's make WR one of our top three needs and make sure he doesn't dress for a game next year.

You draft for a few years off , especially receivers. At top 3 for this team would be a 4th rounder. That's not being frivolous.

It's not a bad idea if the right guy is there, but given how few we have active on gameday, I don't think it is something we need to do. DT is a must-have position for us, but it's hard to imagine much quality being available at the bottom of the second round. A guard would probably be better value, but not as much of a need. Actually I don't see a lot of needs besides DT, especially if they aren't just blowing smoke about C.J. Wilson at corner.

Just realizing Seward will likely be gone, maybe we should look at LB too. I really think we need to find a G and of course DT but, as has been mentioned, hard to find help for next year with a late 2nd.

Connor should be able to take over for Seward.

LB isn't a bad idea but it's not a top tier need. We'll be out a couple guys, yes. Seward, and then Anderson is RFA. Johnson might be gone on principle. Curry and Kyle (who is FA and hopefully finds a way back) are in there but aren't expected to contribute. Davis is a FA after 2009. I could see that, even though it appears we're stacked, so that could vie for that 3rd pick if you're tiering by need. I do like guard as well there, and we don't have youth there (plus Hangartner is FA).

As far as WR, again on the inactive, and past that without a first round pick and assuming we're moderately frugal in FA again, there really aren't a bunch of picks to put into three years from now.

I don't see a ton of change in what we have at DT, really, good or bad, so that's where a young rotation guy comes in. He can be situational, but late 2nd you can still have a shot at a guy who can do everything.
