Peter King is a solid writer, but no great authority on the NFL. Remember, he's the same guy who lauded Eli Manning and said was a top 10 quarterback. Heck, he's had a laundry list of absurd claims. Long is a solid, high effort player but one with limited athleticism who probably won't be much of a pass rusher at the NFL level and probably wouldn't get nearly as much attention if not for his father.

You could argue that Joey has had a better season than Peppers... Still wouldn't come close to justifying the pick...

Just watched the Miami VT game. didn't notice Phillips once...not a good sign. Got to be a play maker if it is going to be worth breaking from our norm and drafting a S early.

That being said, I was impressed with Kyle Wright...as in I like him every bit as much as Matt Ryan. Of course there is a lot of time to notice warts between now and draft time.

As much as we need a safety I would not take one in the top ten unless I had good reason to think he would be the next Ronnie Lott. We are looking at both our our offensive tackles being free agents along with one DE and another "superstar" DE who is looking for a contract. We are weak at wide out behind Smitty. There are just going to be too many holes to use a high first round pick on a safety. We should have gotten one this year. At least we seemed to have solved our Morgan problems at MLB though.

If we don't do anything with the QB position between now and draft day, I'd be all about Andre Woodson. Drafting a QB is a tough thing as Collin says, but we gotta do SOMETHING.
