Mags just selected Ngata, I'm wondering if Bunkley can catch him for #1 Dt prospect? I seriously doubt it but wondering

He didn't have that awesome a workout; he had a fine one, but I don't know that he'd jump 15 spots in such a competitive top 15. He might've priced himself out of our pick, and probably stands alone at the 2nd DT.

He's the only one-gap DT out there, because Ngata could go either way and Wright and Watson will probably end up in the 3-4 or in two gap spots, so it's hard to say where he falls. But is he a top ten? No, probably not.

I wasn't certain where to go with San Fran. Green Bay was a bit of a no-brainer, but I wasn't certain whether SF needed an impact DL or a sideline to sideline LB. In the end I felt like Hawk was a bit more special, but didn't think Ngata would fall past Oakland considering their age.

Still it leaves Watson available around 27 and I don't have a problem with a big 330+ run stuffing DT. Something I've felt the team needs for a while now. You put him next to Peppers, Rucker, and Jenkins there will be no problem with the pass rush or run D. I would hopefully force more RBs to go outside which better suits Our linebackers strengths. Watson's big hit was that he was weak in the pass rush, well put him with 3 other pass rushing linemen and you'll get better production out of him simply because he'll be left alone.

there's an off-chance that we could get more rush out of a guy like Watson (Wright would be more likely), but yeah, he'd be a run-stopper. And I don't believe we need to get that much better v/s the run (you don't neglect it outright, of course, just don't invest on that in particular with so much), but I do believe we're outright missing inside pass rush (I'd be willing to bet 75% of sacks from DTs came on stunts). We can probably find roleplaying DTs later. If we're looking for someone who can do one or the other, we can find better value in the 3rd or so.

Two things, dark orchid is a bad color for me....and you might want to swap me and Archangle (Chicago and Indy) if you don't want a full day delay. I don't get a chance to get on-line at home during the week and my modem has been acting up.
If nobody has a problem with that anyway???

So as to not clutter up the draft thread:

Collin, thought you were low on Jackson? Granted, the fit's decent and he's potentially as good an athlete as UF's produced at WR in a few years, but thought it odd.

I wouldn't take him for us, but I was trying to think from the Giants' perspective. This is the worst crop of WR I've ever seen, so if you need to get someone, it might as well be Jackson. The other guys I thought about were all gone, and the best remaining values at that point were at positions where they don't need upgrades.

True, but Rodrique Wright gains us absolutely nothing. We're already pretty good against the run, and the one thing we actually need a DT to do is the one thing Wright can't. He's not a bad player, he's just not the right guy for us at all.

I feel like Wright got a lot of knocks based on that ankle injury. He's big for what we need, too, but I wouldn't consider him a run-only nosetackle. He's got a very quick first step, and has a lot of power to get the guard walked back. He's not ideal, and I don't believe that DT is such the overwhelming need, but I'd take him there if that's how it works out.

I have watched a lot of Texas games and I haven't noticed any ability of Wright to collapse the pocket.
