I'm glad the Heels have a somewhat easier schedule than they have had over the past few years. I would, however, like to see at least 1 major non-conf game on State's schedule...

    UNC

    Rutgers
    Furman
    South Florida
    Notre Dame

    State

    App State
    Akron
    Southern Miss
    East Carolina

I'll give Carolina credit for the past two or three years, their non-conference schedule has been good. But Notre Dame this year was almost luck. I don't know when this was agreed upon time wise but I'm sure its been a few years. So, I would assume Carolina scheduled Notre Dame when they weren't much of a powerhouse (2-3 years ago at least). So, you can't really say they "planned" to have a big non conference schedule this year. State on the other hand has had the misfortune of being cancelled by other schools. They can't help that, so they had to schedule easier opponents due to availability. The App St and ECU games are big money games, so that's why they scheduled them. And to be honest, I worry a little about playing App St. They have always played Wake tough, and all State fans know how we play against Wake. I kind of wish we did have a tougher out of conference schedule, b/c State usually plays to the level of their competetion.

I'm not trying to criticize either schedule. i understand the ASU and ECU games....I think it's great they are playing those teams b/c I love to see the non-acc schools get a shot at the big boys.

as for the heels and ND...I don't think anyone schedules them expecting an easy game in South Bend, but I'm not really sure they expected a top 10 team either...

either way, you state fans won't have to listen to heels fans talk smack about your schedule all year...b/c they are comparable.
