I thinks we need to stay awey from guys how are 30years and older. If we want to win every year we have to a young. The Biggest mistake that panthers miad.Back in 1995 was to sign older player. Yes we had a 1 very good year. But after that we had to wite 7 year to see the panthers make the Playoff .

There's a big difference between having a whole team of old players and using veterans to fill holes on a young team.

While I'd like to continue to get younger, I really do somewhat stress the need to keep our existing aging veterans - Peete included, I guess - and to not shy away from most of the others who can contribute.

The crime in aging vets is relying on them, overpaying them, and then having no one to replace them. Bringing in a Kevin Donnalley to finish his career here, and include immeasurable support for Jeno James? Yes please.
Kris Jenkins credits Buckner for a lot of what he's done to become the league's best DT.
    That doesn't suck either.

And if anyone wants to argue that Mark Fields didn't make Will Witherspoon a better linebacker, expect to get your feelings hurt.

I don't think LB will be a big FA need. If it's a FA need, it'll be for an emerging starter type, someone cheap. Honestly, I don't see our team thinking we have as big a need at LB as we feel we do.
So I'm hoping it'll be draft, I guess. That way, we have a young guy behind Fields, which is the way it oughta be.

So that's where I'd disagree, rake, because I think if Peterson or Wilson get out of their respective locker rooms, it'll be for significant money. Not outrageous money, and certainly I'd expect worthwhile value. But we won't.

Vincent makes a decent target, though I'd still go in this order:

Bailey, McAllister, Woodson, Bryant, Plummer, Winfield, Bobbly Taylor (for fit to that side and relative talent, not to suggest being > Vincent), Vincent.

    he's not that good.

not necessarily he's better/worse than Arrington, but neither are worth what Arrington got :)

Personally, the guy I'm feeling the most comfortable with, and a guy who could easily be available, Ahmed Plummer.
