I get your point but calling the J-E-T-S an elite team is pretty much a reach in my view.

Please. Fox hasn't turned around anything. Denver's DEFENSE has won a few games against garbage teams despite Tebow passing like a Jr High QB.
The one good team they played ( Detroit) beat the living shit out of them.
All this little run has done has screwed their draft pick, and doomed Fox to a another season of Tebow at QB running the wishbone.

    Pop question!!

Can anyone guess what Denver's defensive ranking was last year?

    32nd overall.

Denver's defense last year was the WORST DEFENSE IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE.

We don;t like our defense? Fuckin' change it. We haven't done it.

On an unrelated note, I heard Rivera liken our team to the Niners, saying they got beat up last year and look at them now, all 8-1 and shit.

    Rivera, you're no Harbaugh.

edit- Last year Denver was 32. This year they're 17th, so far. Big improvement, though they're not all world.

Last year we finished 18th. So far we're 20th overall. Could be worse I guess.

I wonder how much difference having Davis and Beason would make.

Or drafting a defensive player high in the first round. What, we're just ignoring the impact Von Miller has had on the Broncos' defense? I continue to say that drafting Dareus instead of Newton would have made this team better in both the short and long-term.

How's that working for the Bills?

Although...how's drafting Cam working for us. Either way...

I just think it's important to remember if we drafted D instead of Cam, we had no second rounder to go collect one of these second-tier QBs. Cam was the only way to go, in my opinion.

Edit- Buffalo is the 29th overall defense right now. They finished last year 24th.

Further edit- Carolina is the 6th overall offense right now. Last year we finished 32nd.

Cam over Dareus seems like a no brainer to me. Hindsight can blow.

I wanted to go defense with the pick and try to find a veteran QB. If I had known that Newton would look this good this soon I would have been in favor of drafting him.

People talk a lot about the Chargers but if you look at their history they have been very inconsistent. They were one of the most talented teams in the league for several years but never made it to a superbowl.

Ryan Mallett went in the third round. The Panthers could have drafted him and gone after Matt Hasselbeck in free agency as a one or two year starter.

Stop looking at yardage and start looking at points. Do you win games by having more yards or more points?
