#14 As much as I'm hoping Star Lotulelei he probably will be gone. Richardson will probably be the choice but I almost think theirs better value at CB in the first and DT in the second. Xavier Rhodes seems to be the conscientious as the #2 CB and I like his size but I am leaning to drafting Desmond Trufant from Washington. Quick as hell with a 4.45 40

#44 I really think either Hankins from OSU or Sylvester Williams from UNC will be there at 44 but since we are going with this board I say we dip into the Georgia pool again and select John Jenkins DT

#108 OT Brennon Williams OT from UNC

#148 Earl Wolff FS from NCSU

#182 Garrett Gilkey OT/G from Chadron St

The opposite is actually true. At #44 there should be a lot more at CB than DT. I do like your Brennan Williams pick. Assuming there are no long-term complications from his torn labrum he would be serviceable at tackle.

#14) Kenny Vaccaro, FS, Texas - Richardson is solid, but neither he or Dwan can play the nose, so that would limit the first year impact and I just don't see him as a future star. Rhodes or Patterson would be fine, but Vaccaro is a smart and versatile player who would do a lot to pull the secondary together. I keep having flashbacks to Nakamura, and that's what makes me want Vaccaro.

#44) Johnthan Banks, CB, MSU - Slay has gotten more buzz in the last few months because he posted great 40 times and Banks posted bad ones, but when the season ended I think everyone had Banks rated more highly. He is a press corner, which doesn't exactly fit this scheme, but it's easier to teach a press guy to play conventional than for a conventional guy to play press. So that gives the DC some additional flexibility. I would prefer to take a defensive or offensive tackle here but none represent good value.

#74) *sigh* So many good players will still be available here. Does anyone still think that Frank Alexander was worth the cost?

#108) Brennan Williams , OT, UNC - I'll follow PantherPaul's lead. Williams has good feet and should be an upgrade in pass protection at right tackle.

#148) David Quessenberry, G/T, SJSU - Just throwing darts at this point. I've never seen him play, but I've read that Quessenberry is a smart guy with good technique who can at minimum be a solid backup at all offensive line positions.

#182) Brad Wing, P, LSU - Nortman was the fourth worst NFL punter last season. Wing evidently likes to smoke up, but he has a heck of a leg.

Plus he's a punter that got an excessive celebration penalty- you just can't beat that

    v.1

    1. Sheldon Richardson, DT is the value here, and can be like a Richard Seymour - and while he's not a true nose, he gives us good rotation, and helps us on third down.

    2. Erid Reid, S is too good to pass up, though I feel guilty for ignoring the OL. Starter for the next decade.

    4. Jordan Mills, OT who I feel will be better than the guy from UNC, Williams or whoever, who seems too soft for the NFL to be a RT - while Williams seems like quality depth to me, Mills is a guy who can start, and develop into a solid starter.

5.Chris Gragg, TE essentially replaces Gary Barnidge.

    6. Dustin Hopkins, K because Gano is a shitty stopgap.

    v2. (top 3 redux)

    1. Cordarelle Patterson, WR What the dolphins wanted Ginn to be. Instant #2, eventual replacement to Smitty, and makes an interesting offense dynamic, with Patterson, Smith, Olsen and Williams/Stewart/Newton all on the field at once.

    2. Terron Armstead, OT Gross' eventual replacement.

    4. Bennie Logan, DT who will share snaps with Edwards, and probably replace him as our 3.

    Not bad I'm thinking:

    1. Corderelle Patterson WR
    2. Eric Reid S
    4. Bennie Logan DT
    5. Reid Fragel OT
    6. Jake Stoneburner TE (I changed this because Jake was arrested for public urination and such mayhem. Plus Fauria can't block at all)

    14. Sylvester Williams - DT -dude has been getting a little hype recently. Runs hot and cold which is the opposite of what you'd get with Richardson but you get a little more size.

    44. Kyle Long - OT/G - Very tempting to take a safety or CB with some relatively highly rated players sitting there. I think this is a good fit though. Capable of playing guard or tackle which are both glaring needs. Somewhat difficult to pass up on Terron Armstead and his LT potential.

    108. TJ McDonald-S- Potential to develop into a starter. Great size and reasonable speed to cover the TE's.

    148. Tharold Simon - CB - Seen him play and he has some ability to cover. Honestly at this points he's one of the few names I recognize.

    182. Jake Stoneburner - TE - He's actually a pretty good TE.

14 - Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
This feels like the safe, conservative route for a first time GM. He's interchangeable with Dwan Edwards, which means he might start out exclusively as a pass down player, but Edwards is only signed though 2013.

    44 - Eric Reid, S, LSU
I'd also be fine with Vaccaro at 14, and Reid is more of a gambler (and not ideal for our need at SS), but even still would be a big upgrade over the black hole of suck that we currently have. I wanted to go corner in one of the two first rounds, but I think safety is clearly the bigger need.

    108 - Jordan Reed, TE/H-back, Florida
Kind of a crappy attitude and will be always limited to a move TE, but we need a legitimate receiving threat behind Olsen and he might actually be a better blocker than Hartsock. I buy into the comparisons to Aaron Hernandez.

148 - Xavier Nixon, OT, Florida
Very inconsistent but can play both sides. Hopeful that could replace Bell or at least develop into a good swing player.

182 - TJ Barnes, NT, Georgia Tech
Big, big ************. Massive ************. I'd be happy to add a back-up NT for short yardage and goal line. He's not just a big lumbering doofus either. He's got a swagger to him.

Nixon had a lot of bad moments on the field at Florida. Maybe you can coach that out of him, but it would worry me.
