This Sunday's line. What do you think over or under 13.5 victory for the Saints?

The Saints have not looked that great to me this year so far. Of course if we are not a get well game for them then I do not know what would be.

Sooner or later Clausen is going to start clicking and we are going to start winning some games. The rest of the team is too good to keep losing if the passing game is up to par.

    it is?????????????????

Thelt, this is not a very talented team, and most areas where we do have some talent there is a lack of brains/& or drive (or coaching is not utilizing the talent well). I'm starting to understand what a heavy toll that whole gutting the vets thing has wrought. Our D-line is not good by any means. I will go ahead and fess up that losing peppers hurt significantly but I still believe that not having Davis hurts more. Aside from Beason the panthers are only mediocre to below average at LB. The entire secondary is a mess in my opinion and consists of some decent nickle/dime players but I don't like any of them as consistent starter quality. I do believe that Meeks is a good DC and is getting pretty much the best out of what he's got.
Offensively most would agree that there isn't a worse team in the league right now. Foes just double Smith and load up the box for DW and JS, hence the league low 10.something pts a game. Then there is the sucktastic special teams unit . . . so in response to your sentiment I have to strongly disagree.
The rest of the team is NOT too good to keep losing

I disagree. I think the defense while not spectacular is adequate. If the offense and special teams would stop turning the ball over and going 3 and out then I think the defense would have much better stats. If you look at how many times we have turned the ball over the defense has held up pretty well.

I think we have all the pieces in place for a solid running game. Certainly we have had that the past two years with basically the same personnel. The real problem is the lack of a reliable and efficient passing game. We had that under Moore last year and under Jake for most of his pre 2009 tenure. If we can get that back with Clausen I think we will win more than we lose.

    7-9!

I'd pick the over if I were bettin...

If we don't get sooper dooper pressure on Breez (assuming he ain't really hobbled) AND shut down their run game, we ain't gonna score enough points to win, heck, even if we manage 2 TDs and 2 FGs (20 pts), they are still gonna score 35. And 2 TDs and 2 FGs is more than the last 2 games combined....I'd consider that great at this point....still....

Unless we somehow come out and light it up and their wheels come off, we are gonna lose purty big. I hope that's the case, but......I have my reservations.

Clauson may end up being a good franchise QB, and I really hope so...but this year he's gonna take some serious lumps....that and we need some other WRs to step up along with much better Oline play....

I'll take a drink here at my desk for the future...as I await the impending HS game tonight (my youngest son plays for the undefeated team that went to the NC state HS 4AA champinship last year but lost stoopidly going for 2 for the win @ the end of the game, and this year is still undef). I'm sure you can google to figure it out...

Also looking forward to the NCSU game tomorrow, as my oldest is in the marching band there....GO PACK!!!!!
