    Signing both tackles in FA

13- Merling DE It would be hard to pick between him and Cambell.

43- Carl Nicks OT He is more of a Left tackle / Pulling guard type.

74- Matt Forte RB We need that 3rd and one guy.

    13. Kenny Phillips FS - finally have an athletic, fast FS to team with hard hitting Harris.

    43. Early Doucet WR - I can't believe he's falling into round 2. He'd be great opposite Smith and an immediate upgrade over Carter/Colbert.

    74. Dre Moore DT - I like him alot and it gives us flexibility next year with Kemo and Jenkins.

If we DON'T go DE in round one, then I don't think the rest of the guys available are any better than McClover and Charles Johnson. I'd try to get Rucker back on a 2-year deal close the vet min with a modest signing bonus.

Now that Wharton has signed what appears to be a decent deal, and Gross either re-signed or Franchised, I guess we're out of the Faneca sweepstakes.

Alternative scenario of drafting a LT and moving Wharton inside is intriguing though....

I liked the second scenario better.

But I don't know if we were or weren't in the Faneca sweepstakes - nonetheless if their idea is that they need to upgrade the line (and they do), guard is the only place they have available.

Yeah, scenario "two" really does upgrade the line. Draft a young, quality LT like a Williams or Clady, and then move Wharton inside to Wahle's spot.

    LT - Chris Williams
    LG - Wharton
    C - Kalil
    RG - Hartwig
    RT - Gross

    Backups - Hangartner, Bridges

    14. Campbell - I still go with Campbell he has more size than the other top DE prospects

43 Tavares Gooden - If our team only no we wuz gettin two linebackers from the seventh flo-oh

74 I still want Decoud but he goes at 72 on this list. I probably got with Scheuning

    13 Campbell

    43 Slaton

    74 Rucker

    Scott Wright:

    13 Cambell

    43 Fred Davis

    74 Benedict

These rankings are all over the map on some guys.

Pat Kirwin on Moving the Chains is really talking up Davis. It's like he has an investment in his contract. He's the guy Kirwan said we needed to keep safety help off of Smith.
