Never saw many 'cuse games myself but I have no idea how any NFL team talked themselves into Landry Jones

A lot of times they'll IR a guy with a minor injury to keep him under contract if they don't think he's good enough to make the 53 legitimately. Think of it as redshirting Kugbila in hopes that he might be worth a damn for 2014. By the way, Bahktiari is the starting left tackle for the Packers.

Catchy name and he looks the part. The average fan and the average NFL personnel guy probably aren't as different as we're led to believe.

I'm concerned about Gettleman being potentially clueless about evaluating offense. That's better than having Hurney who's clueless about everything, but it's still a concern.

Kugbila was such a random pick. You at least heard Silatolu gaining some momentum at draft time but even then there were other options. He apparently looked good in training camp so there is still hope. Kugbila has size but what else? None of us expected him to start this year. Hopefully he provides some viable depth in the future

I remember most of us having the sense to think of Bahktiari as solid option. It was very random. It's strange that Gettleman didn't even try to push Bell because we all saw how bad he was. I guess best-case is that he's waiting til 2014 to fix the o-line at one fell swoop, but I sort of don't believe that.

Plus Barner is looking like miss too.

I can deal with the reach and not bringing in FA competition if you're trying to get as much money out of future years as possible. I don't get the reach and not bringing in FA competition given how much cap room Gettleman cleared now. If he knew he wasn't going to bring in a veteran then draft the guy who can play right away even if he's never going to be more than solid. Kugbila has more potential than Bahktiari, but he also has only about a 5% chance of ever reaching it.

Bakhtiari update: started all fourteen games for the Green Bay Packers at left tackle. Packers rookie David Bakhtiari holding up under fire
