Some folks say that team management can readily absorb defeat; conversely, it reacts like hell when embarrassment is involved. Today, embarrassment was heavily involved, no matter how many people were injured or unavailable. From the opening kickoff, this team was not prepared to play. In the words of a former NFL star, Alex Hawkins (South Carolina,ACC Player of the Year, 1958), "we were flatter than piss on a plate."

Could be. You know, I already knew but you really have a great way with words.

Mental mistakes. It's like it just doesn't mean as much to every player every game - uneven effort, mental mistakes. There's not a lack of effort, though some people do seem much more worried about not getting hurt. Some guys, conversely, are doing too much and costing us, like Witherspoon.

Not listening to Fox anymore, maybe? I mean, in the motivational way. They still respect him, I think.
