Dennis Errickson. 0-3, first shutout in like 400 years. And got their asses handed to them.

Davis will be the first to go. He appeared to have really built something special in Cleveland and they are now going in the oppsite direction really fast when no major losses in personnel to blame for.

Wanny gets more time with the loss of Williams and David Boston.

Nothing Short of a 0-16 season would get either Gruden or Vermeil fired so drop the crack pipe. They are as a safe as you can be at 0-3 and safer than most are at 2-1.

There's certainly the argument that Ricky and Boston were beyond his control, but I bet Wannstedt is the first to go. Why? Miami will be tired of all that has transpired, and will push for a fresh start, no matter who's at fault.

Right now, I'd say Davis, Haslett, and Schottenheimer are on the hottest of hot seats. If Cleveland and Nawlins make the playoffs (wild card, of course), that probably buys them another year. If they finish at .500 or under, they're both toast. Schottenheimer (or more likely Rivers/Brees) will have to pull out some kind of miracle to save his job.

    Gruden's safe.

Martz shouldn't be, but he is.

Capers is getting there. Houston got screwed in the expansion draft, so that set them back some. But the offense, which was showing some promise at the end of last year seems to have taken a couple of steps backward this year. Davis has apparently lost his starting job to Wells, Carr's TE has disappeared, and his gamebreaker wideouts have been inconsistent at best. At least he's not getting sacked every other snap. But as a whole, they've still got a LONG way to go, and they should be farther along than they are this year.

Wannestadt is probably safe, because that team is more snake-bitten this year than any I've ever seen, and none of it is really his fault. He may get fired, but if so, it'll be because of the last 5 years, not the last 5 months.

Erickson never should've been hired in the first place. But any team losing it's top 3 staff members, combined with front office problems (i.e. Julian "I'm a soldier too!" Peterson), is going to have serious fallout to deal with. Is Erickson the man to get the job done? Nope. But Donahoe will figure that out eventually.

I used to wish that we would have gotten Butch Davis. He was a really hot property when he was coaching at Miami and he was a great DC with the Cowboys. I figured he'd be a really successful head coach in the NFL.

Now I'm glad we have Fox instead.
