    let me bring a couple of you back down off the ledge.

    It's 2-5 weeks. That means missing this game and probably 2 more. We've got a bye, we've got Foster, and honestly, across the season the offense worked better without Davis. It's stupid, I know. But we call more varied plays without Davis, we mix it up more. Too bad we can't do that with Davis more, but fuck Dan Henning anyway.

    Meat's right, in that our D is what really has to step up this week.

    Dammit.

    Silver lining? We were 2-0 without Davis last year.

    Now that I think about it, though, we could get in a shootout with one of the best offenses in the league;
    our two RBs were both returning kicks last week. Our starting corner could be returning punts this week, and one of our starting receivers wasn't active last week.

    I hate it, but there wasn't going to be a whole lot of running w/ this o-line anyway

    I'm trying my damnedest to be optimistic about this season after our GB loss, but now with Davis out, my optimism is waning. I keep telling myself, "We'll be okay. It's just a bunch of minor setbacks," but it ain't working too well. :worried:

    I think the KC game is going to be very telling about our football team. Will they step up and win a tough one on the road or will they roll over and die. There is no reason our D can not shut down Holmes and make Trent Green beat us. There is no reason we can not have a successfull passing game against that soft and thin D. If really do have a championship caliber defense then it needs to step up.

    I just heard this on the radio.

    I'm gonna get reemed for saying this, but it very much feels like a lost season already. What can go wrong seems to be doing so.

    The upside of potentially not making the playoffs is this - Colbert & Foster will have a bunch of experience under their belts for next season, and if we finish with a poor enough record, maybe we can get a high enough draft pick to trade down and pickup two really solid OLs to bolster our decrepit line.

    New England had a crap year in between their two super bowls. I'm curious who they picked up in the following draft as a result and what impact it had on their team for the next season.
