In Larry Browns defense, these are not all the players that were first chosen.
Remember about 10 all-stars or starters from teams chose not to play for various reasons.

And besides , Larry Brown didnt miss any shots that i seen.

They just dared us to shoot. And apparently we can't. Not a lick. Dell Curry would've gone for 50 if he was as open as our guys were.

    The second quarter was pitiful.

He did not make any against the Lakers either but he got plenty of credit for the championship.

Regardless of who is not on this team it has a lot of great players on it.

I hate for our olympic team to lose but it is kinda funny in a way. I think all the young punks in the NBA could stand to be taken down a notch.

Chuck Daly said the team is not constructed for international ball.

Shooting is a rarity in the NBA, and you have to shoot vs a zone.

A couple of gunners like Nash, Bibby, and Hamilton would have served them better.

I mean, Iverson is the best shooter on this team.

Redd would've been good I thought. Apparently no one ever asked him to play though. Rip would've played if they hadn't gone to the Finals I think. Lebron and Iverson could've built my house today. :scared2:

But our guys were so open I could've scored today.

The NBA taylored its rules to reward individual athleticsm and Micheal Jordan specifically. Playing against teams that know how to play defense and make jump shots the NBA is going to struggle. If you took a team like the old Celtics or Lakers of Byrd and Magic and let them play in their prime against any team today it woudl be a slaughter. The NBA is no longer about quality basketball but rather individual athleticsm. All they want is to see somebody dunk.

This is very true, although they've now gone more toward the international ball than during the Bird/Majic era, since some form of zone is now allowed. But few teams take advantage of it since how teams are constructed.

Pure shooters that are on a lot of international squads can not make it in the NBA because man to man defense with the size of players can shut down those types of players. See the Finals.

So in the NBA, you have post offenses, pick and roll, backcuts and screens, and just pure one on one. Things to get shots in the paint or to the foul line.

A packed in zone doesn't allow that. You have to hit outside shots. And these guys can't. We picked one on one guys like Marbury (how is this guy a star, I can name 10 better point guards), Billups or Bibbee would have been muc better.

And kshead, Rip didn't go cauce he was fraid of getting blown up. And not like these guys are, I mean literally.

Anyone else notice how few people are at the arenas? People are skeered.

i honestly would take the last duke team that won the national title over these guys. you couldn't play zone against them. and hell, you know coach k would have the refs in his pocket by the end of medal qualifying.
