Proehl is gone. Hopefully Hayes will rekindle the magic he had working with Muhammad. The Panthers have seriously upgraded their passing offense in the offseason. Give Delhomme a summer camp to work with Moose as well his old hookup in Steve Smith. The Panthers will be much more explosive next sesaon. No more possible 14-10 losses to Houston.

Here's the way I see it: Baker made it last year soley because we were thin at WR, Hankton provides little at WR even though he's a STs standout, Proehl is thinking about retiring and Young is still very raw. Colbert is the only wideout we have close to a sure thing and that alone is still not adequate for depth.

Did Hayes play at all last year? I remember him having some shining moments with us but I cannot understand us bringing in a known quantity except to provide a minimum standard for the rooks.

Young will be replaced by Carter... they're the same type player except Carter can run faster and jump higher.

Everyone seems convinced that Moose or Proehl is gone. Why is that?

Hayes didn't even make an NFL roster last year.

A few players have let slip out that Ricky has been pondering whether to retire or not. Steve Smith kind of let the cat out of the bag (no pun intended) in a radio interview a week or so ago. Is it definite? No, but it is a real possibility. If Ricky is even thinking about it, it would be irresponsible for the staff not to be contemplating his replacement ... especially considering prior to the draft how thin we were. I think that had somewhat to do with us drafting two wideouts. As for Moose's fate, your guess is as good as mine.
