to move up to 6. at least that's what the lions beat writer is reporting. at least 4 other teams are making offers for pick as well. Pitt wants a QB. the falcons and jags are two of the four. I'm not sure who they are targetting. Winslow, Roy Williams, and Taylor are the likely canidates.

I'm 75% sure the lions will trade down with one of them. if they get an extra 3rd round pick, they'll send it to dallas for Larry Allen...which would give them their best o line in decades. they'll also use additional picks to trade back up into the late first round and get a WR. the lions likely won't do anything until they are on the clock. If Roy Williams is there, they'll keep it..Charles Rogers on one side and Roy Williams on the other.

he's got mooch helping him out now....a big upgrade from morningwood.

and yes, allen is 63 years old but he's got a couple of years left. Peter King said the same thing last night...about the trade, not the age.

don't have Pittsburgh's pick # in front of me, but I think it's 11. the difference of the Lions to Steelers pick would be 450 value points, or the 46th pick. Assume Pittsburgh has earlier than that (more value), the Lions would probably have to chip in a 4th to make it work, at the most. 6 and a 4th for 11 and a high 2nd is a good deal. Pitt figuring Roethlisberger is slipping?

Pitt wants Rivers and he's a HOT commodity right now for some reason. Other teams are looking to trade ahead of Pittsburg to get him.

Wow. Very frenzied. Reminds me somewhat of the whole push on QBs after the initial 3 of 99 went - knowing that Akili wasn't that good, and everyone had him over guys like McNown, and yet there was a scramble for a guy like that despite his rating.

I think the lions need a lb/dt more than a wr. I mean they have rogers, hakeem(however you spell it) and streets. There secondary is decent from what I remember but they need some help on at dl/lb and rb. I would go lb or dt 1st rnd and rb/wr in the second.
