    hang on....

he allegedly told some soldiers he was coming....when asked about it at a presser at Fort Bragg, he said "I don't know yet."

Tourney officials say they have no official committment from Woods at this time, but would love to have him if he chooses to play.

Woods undecided about playing in Wachovia Championship

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (AP) – The Wachovia Championship is less than a month away, but Tiger Woods isn’t saying whether he’ll compete in the second annual event in Charlotte.

“Don’t know yet,” Woods said Friday when asked.

The Wachovia Championship, a $5.6 million event, runs May 6-9. David Toms won the 2003 event, which received rave reviews from golfers and was a sellout each day despite a field that did not include Woods, Phil Mickelson or Ernie Els.

Those three golfers were not on an early commitment list released last month, but the list did include Davis Love III, Nick Price, Lee Janzen, Justin Leonard, Bernhard Langer, Padraig Harrington and Duffy Waldorf.

Toms said last month Woods would like the course at the Quail Hollow Club and the tournament, but said Woods doesn’t play as much as other golfers “because when he shows up at a golf tournament it’s pretty hectic.”

Woods was at Fort Bragg this week to get a taste of military life. The golf great trained with various Army units, fired weapons, awoke early for four-mile runs and even jumped twice from a plane.

He then hosted a junior golf clinic here Friday.

hey mike, i thought you were a sox guy. so whats up with the Old Style? Dude, we need to get the logo for Freddie's Breaded Steak stand on 39th street. Damn good grub.

I am a Sox guy, but a Chicagoan at heart. Old Style transcends all in Chi-town. Never been to Freddies...was it all just breaded steaks (sandwiches) and stuff? Sounds awesome...need a Vienna dog place in town. Gene & Judes off River Road in River Grove was the BOMB!

    found one...

Matt's Chicago Dog in Cornelius (704-892-5005). I-77 to exit 28, go west about 1 mile on left. In shopping center that is in front of a Bi-Lo and in the same part as Quizno's and Starbucks at the lake area. The real deal with Vienna beef dogs.

had family in Gary and off 87th Street on the S'side.
