We all knew this was coming! I guess since we went to the big dance and we need to be up to par with the rest of the league, JR felt the need to raise prices.

just read this on charlotte.com. i was interested in seeing what they were going to do with ticket prices since we got a letter from JR about our Club lease agreement.

In the whole grand scheme of things, this is not that much. as reported on charlotte.com, we were 28th in the league in average ticket price last year.

    Panthers raise ticket prices

    PAT YASINSKAS

    Staff Writer

The Carolina Panthers, coming off a Super Bowl season, will raise ticket prices an average of $7.06.

Director of ticket operations Phil Youtsey said Thursday that ticket prices for 2004 would increase from $2 to $15 a game, depending on seat location. Youtsey said the increase was planned well before the Panthers made the Super Bowl and isn't meant to capitalize on last season's success.

This is the fourth time in 10 years the Panthers have raised ticket prices. Carolina's average ticket price last season ranked 28th in the NFL. Youtsey said the projected ranking for this year's price is about 18th.

Invoices will be mailed to the team's 61,000 personal-seat-license holders this weekend. Single-game tickets for the eight regular-season and two preseason home games at Bank of America Stadium will go on sale in mid-July.

It's true. They do this about every two years.

Here's what I don't get. Yasinskas sez lowest price will be $28. I'm paying $24 now. So, we po' folks pay the BIGGEST percentage increase - 16.67%? Who gets the $2 increase?

That proves it. These guys are Republicans. :handjob:

Edit: OK, it's worse than I thought. Got my invoice. My $24 tix are now $29. 20.8% increase. 4 PSL's x 10 games x $5 is $200 increase this year. Call me a whiner if you want, but it is fundamentally immoral to sock the low end of the scale, the poorest fans, with the biggest percentage increase. It's a principle. Yeah, we're below league average. But why screw those who can least afford it? At least raise everybody the same percentage. This sucks. If I could afford to pay the big bucks I would have bought high-roller PSL's back in '93. :teeth:
