I don;t think it has anything to do with ownership...its a matter that other services aren't willing to carry the station...Adelphia (in financial mess) may not want to carry something TWC produces locally if they can avoid it. I think those folks with Adelphia (or any other provider for that matter) should lobby their provider for it personally...but that's just me! ;)

so if you want to watch a bobcats game on TV, you'll have to get TW Digital (not regular) cable. won't be directv or the dishnetwork. NBA league pass will have the game blacked out locally. Therefore, they've managed to greatly reduce the ability of the community to see their product...great work Bob.

If you have reg. cable and need to upgrade, the cost of the upgrade is like $7/month....is $7/month worth 60 Bobcats games (if you are an NBA fan of course)?

There could be some hidden charges

I was at Time Warner in Kannapolis today and asked what it would cost for another digital hook-up at my house and I was told it would be $10 a month. That's got me wondering if I am paying more than $7 a month extra for digital cable, because you can't get the signal without the receiver. By the way the sound on digital cable sucks. Why is that?

I wonder if Bob Johnson is getting a deal made with the other cable outlets here in North Carolina? Charter Communications supplies cable service for a lot of people in Western North Carolina including Asheville, Boone, Morganton and Hickory. If this is going to be a regional network then he better include us here in the mountains. Personally, I would like to see it available on the analog lineup instead of a digital tier channel. FOX SS and Charter Sports Southeast is available on analog.

    as for News14Carolina, Solarte

Why would Belo (50% owner) want to cannibalize and compete with themselves in the news business here. Doesn't make sense to me. Especially since there are 3 other TV news players in the market already (Cox, J-P, and Bahakel).

It was/is promoted as an exclusive service of TimeWarner Cable, as opposed to a cable exclusive.

NY1 is available on both TimeWarner and Cablevision systems in NYC and evirons, the same with the News12 Networks from the Cablevision side of things. Those systems that are Comcast in NJ can also pick up News12 NJ.

or, if you have satellite and your bill is already $25 cheaper than the same cable package, then that would really be $32 for bobcats games to switch to digital cable. no thanks. woulnd't mind the niners games tho.
