Thanks for your worthless answer. Glad to see the TBR rant & rave tradition continues. :applause:

Now, as for why Bordermanager is being used - it was a corporate decision years ago, no doubt by someone who felt they could save a penny regardless of the sacrifice. No one locally has any control over that.

As for the computer at issue - it is unfortunately a Macintosh using OS X. We wouldn't have it if it wasn't for our customers who use the damn things but that is a whole other rant.

But we still need it to be able to access the web to pull off files onto the machine - hence the problem.

His answer wasn't totally meant as a cut... Microsoft Proxy server sucks ass... I wouldn't have it as a company if I had a choice, but Bordermanager sucks Microsoft Proxy's ass... seriously dude ya'll have someone up top Tech wise that needs to fix something... furthermore you're trying to run a Mac on a Novell network... another thing that is taboo.

What's your default gateway set to?

Ugghh...you may be getting a little over my head here.

The network controls are set to obtain the IP automatically via DHCP. It provides an address like 10.65.xxx.xxx

It also proveds the subnet mask and router info but that is all it does.

This issue didn't exist prior to the OS X upgrade either. We had to upgrade the system OS on the mac due to new software that we had to upgrade (one thing leads to another  ).

But I cannot tell any difference between the settings now and what they were before unless OS X is incapable of talking to BorderManager - which makes no sense when the prior OS would.

Your default gateway is called your router address in OS X... you may want to find the IP range and have one specified for the Mac and not use DHCP on it
