In this weeks issue of ESPN the mag. they list the Panthers as the third lowest average ticket price in the NFL. With a trip tothe Super Bowl and that fact I am forseeing a ticket increase :(

I'd say it's allmost a sure thing but PSL owners will have one game credit from the playoffs. Increase or not, I'll be screaming with joy when those bills come cos football will be getting closer.

And people for once will stop bitching about the increase. Till next year.

The thing is, a gradual increase every year keeps up with natural increases. Does it suck to have an increase after 1-15? Sure. Probably not the smartest decision. But they did it in the years before that, too. I think it came down to $2 per seat per game.

I know it's just a philosophical issue. But an increase isn't that huge a deal. They're not going to suddenly bump prices by $30.

personally, i am not too worried. my club seats have increased less than 10% (total) since the team started playing in charlotte. i fully expect an increase...but i believe that we are still bound by the original club lease contract we signed in 1996 that only allows the team to increase our seats in very small increments.

Yeah, it's kinda like the Bush tax cuts. You rich guys :D get the small increase; meanwhile, us nosebleed po' folks in sec551 have seen a 21% increase since 1996. Oh, well, it is what it is. I'm not gonna complain about a $24 ticket (this year) or even a $26 ticket next year.

Hey, though, ol' Jer really doesn't need to increase prices for a while. The Ericsson contract only gave 'em about $2 mil/year, while now they're gettin' at least $7 mil/year from B of A. That's a nice chunk o' change. Maybe Jer will share the joy with the PSL owners... :D

$26 for a ticket?...wow. Its $75 for a pre-season game to watch the sorry redskins.

you have a little bit of a point...but they popped us for 65 bucks a ticket for the games in clemson. quite frankly, that was highway robbery for the tickets we had. a friend of mine, who had PSL's in the end zone paid 35 bucks a game in clemson for better seats than we had. in hindsight, we should have declined buying the season tickets that year and depended on single game seats.

hopefully you are right about the BoA contract. but for some reason, i think that they will still find a way to 'justify' an increase of ticket prices. afterall, what choice do the psl owners have?

Yeah, that's why I'm not gonna complain. I bought 6 tix at face value for the 12/28 Giants game in NJ: $60 each. EXACT same location as my seats at home - upper endzone corner.
We don't have much choice - except to forfeit our PSL's - but ol' Jer could have been gouging us much worse (see what li'l Danny's doin' in DC, above) and he hasn't done so. One reason our tix are among the lowest cost is because Jer has just about the lowest stadium overhead in the league due to PSL's paying for most of the team-owned stadium. Even the teams that play in taxpayer-subsidized venues generally pay pretty high rent. Except maybe li'l Danny - he's just an asshole. :D
