I just saw the highlights on NBC6's SUPER BOWL Special. This could be the new standard for SUPER BOWL Parties   !!!!

Earlier tonight at the Convention Center, CBS SPORTS Jim Nantz (Charlotte native, but he apparently calls Houston home now) was the MC honoring the top 38 (or was it 41) Houston area sports personalities. Mary Lou Retton was there (Wasn't she born in WV  ? I guess you've got to count the time she was training in Houston for that Bela Kiroly dude for the 1984 Olympics), as well as Roger Clemmons, Bum Philips (ex-Houston Oilers coach . . Ahhhh, them were the days :) . . . Earl Campbell, 'Luv Ya Blue' . . We are the Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers, HOuston OIlers #1 . . da, dah, dah, da,daaaaaaaaaah, da dah, we are the Houston OIlers, Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers #1!!!!! I remember his little speech after they lost the 78 AFC title game to the Steelers . . . 60000 blue pom-pom waving Oilers fans jammed the Astrodome to welcome the team back home from Pittsburgh . . 'Next year, we are going to kick the ***-damn door in!!!!!!' . . Man, talking about 'stirring the pot' !!!!!!!) and a whole bunch of other stars from the area. Only thing I didn't get was Yanni doing the music for the occasion . . Ummmmm, WTF :saywhat: :saywhat: ? ? ? ?

Jim Nantz is my cousin. He was born in Charlotte, grew up in New Jersey, went to the University of Houston, and now lives in Connecticut.
