For you people that regularly attend Hurricanes games, I'm going up for the Islanders-Hurricanes game on 1/23. Are tickets readily available out front, or should I get them in advance? Any chance it sells out? Don't want to be in the nosebleeds, but I'm not gonna pay $125 at the glass either.

I got mine on ticketmaster and just selected "best available." Turned out to be club seats...behind the goal but still a good view. you've got leather swivel chairs, a lot of space, personal cable TV, no bathroom lines, and waiter service....$99/each but worth it if you don't go up there very often.

I took a cab there which is the way to go...you kinda go in with the VIP crowd...the cops let you in ahead of everyone and you get dropped off and picked up right there at the entrance.

Don't waste your money on TicketBastard--get your tix at the box office.

I got mine on ticketmaster because the red wings usually draw well in most arenas...usually sellouts...plus it was friday night. Didn't want to book a hotel room past the cancellation date and then not get a ticket...hotel room TVs suck.

not sure about how well the islanders draw, but that is a friday night.

Thats what I was thinking. Went to an Islanders there a couple of years ago (Ithink it was a weekend), and got a ticket at the box office, the girl said it was almost sold out. Don't know if there was a promo that nite or not. Since then I've used ticketmaster, but I don't like the service fees. Don't remember if there were any "deals" to be had from scalpers out front. I would think there would be, but as Boo said, I don't want to get stuck without one.

I've never really seen any scalpers out at Hurricane games, but you can be sure it won't sell out. Hopefully they will keep playing like they did last night and there will be a rise in attendance

Yeah, your right, the only time I've seen scalpers up there was when we went up during the playoff series with the Leafs. That was a sellers market though.

'canes in the playoffs?.........Damn, PB, I'll bet that seems like AGES ago don't it?

see, Franchise, I can say "yeah, you're right"......

Last years attendance (after the Stanley Cup run) was better than the previous season actually . . But of course, this year folks are staying away from the RBC Center in droves (1) because of the team's piss poor start and 2) because of the economy). I think if this team can get back into playoff contention (as of today, they are only 5 points out of the SE Division lead) folks will start coming back :) . .

Oh, and to answer your question: Unless you want a specific seat, I say you should be able to buy a tix at the DODGE BOX OFFICE. I say, get up there early, buy your tix, then piddle around town for awhile before you go to the game. That way, you know you have your tix ahead of time and don't have to worry about it selling out and having to go thru TICKETMASTER
