just looking through the final stats...and i know...stats are for losers. but these are scary. here are categories where the Cardinals have us beaten:

    First Downs - 23 to 17
    Total Yards - 317 to 298
    Rushing Yards - 170 to 67
    Total Plays - 69 to 51
Time of Possession - 37:54 to 22:06 (wow)

we can get away with this crap against bad football teams. It will not cut it come january though. i was happy to see us make decent half time adjustments again, but we won this game more so because Arizona is a pretty bad football team.

I think we won cause we scored more points.....

No. Its true. We played badly. Again. That we played so badly on defense, without emotion on a game to clinch the division, was what got me. Sleepwalking, no chatter, no nothing. If Jenks didn't get them in the backfield, Shipp was getting 8. There are some guys who I'd cut on the plane.

Davis looking gimpy doesn't bode well either. I'd consider sitting him if needed.

i am usually the one pointing to the scoreboard when we got outplayed but found a way to win. and i am thrilled to death that we wrapped up the division. but we have shown that, against good teams, we just can not overcome these kinds of outings. the playoffs will be no different.

The difference is that 7 points came from the defense. 7 points that came from no time of possession, no first downs, etc.

Seeing that pic makes me ask this question: what is McGinnis's specialty? Meaning, we all know Fox is defense, Capers was defense, and JDR was defense. Is he good in offense? Maybe we could dump Henning if McGinnis is good in offense.

That picture makes me think that Fox is telling him that he has a place on the Panthers coaching staff when McGinnis gets canned.

mcGinness is a defensive guy. Formerly DC for the Cardinals, and the year before being promoted, was hired as the head coach of the Chicago Bears but then declined the offer because they'd already announced him as HC.
