Im not attempting to argue Smith is an all pro receiver but he is the only guy who has made plays with the game on the line.

That's untrue. If you WANT THE TRUTH, you gotta stop hiding behind bias.
Muhammad and Davis have made their share of plays with the game on the line. Philly game, NFL.com:

    >>Delhomme threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Muhsin Muhammad, and although Kasay missed the extra point, it cut the Eagles' lead to 22-16 with 6:42 to play. Carolina held on defense, but Delhomme threw two incompletions and Steve Smith was called for offensive pass interference to force the Panthers to punt.

Disagree. Ricky Proehl has. DeShaun Foster has. Moose has.

Agreed. And if he had been benched, I would have been first in line to see him starting this week against Arizona. Everyone has a bad day at work once in a while. As long as it's an isolated incident, it's not a problem.

But we are in a playoff race, and there's a ton at stake. If Jake's having an off night, and Rodney can step in for 30 minutes of game time and play well enough to get the W, I have no problem with that. The point is, Jake was not doing things in that game that he's been doing since he took the field in JAX. That's not an unrealistic expectation. He's been fairly consistently hitting the deep routes well. He's been making pretty good decisions under pressure. Sunday night, he wasn't doing either very well.

Jake played a pretty good game against the Falcons. It is a shame he has to deal with the group of WR on this team. I suspect Moose Man will be gone well before Jake. It is nice to have a great coach like John Fox. He is making excellent decisions in the off season. Give him time to address our weakness at Wide Receiver and we'll be a consistent winner.

    Agreed.

Bad game. Probably his worst, easily. But he's more proven than the other options. You don't shatter his confidence now. not when Peete is your #2.

I don't know what your definition of "pretty good" is, but if 13 for 25 passing and three turnovers qualifies you should set your standards higher.

Jake sucked in the game, but I blame his line for a lot of forced throws... furthermore that one fumble was Mitchell's fault

BUCKO, I just know this teams option. Jake is solid. Obviously if you have read any published media this week, John Fox also thinks the game losing int was not related to Jake. To me, its as if he has wanted to say this many times this season when Jake has turned the ball over. Jake is not a pussy so he does not place blame. That is a neat thing.
