Well I'll be waiting for this HUGE dropoff in ST now that he's suspended.

Actually, they both did. Or, you could say that Smart replaced Smith, who replaced Bates on kick returns, but Coop did replace Bates on kick coverage. At least half, if not most of the Pro Bowls Bates was elected to was as "special teams player", i.e. gunner, not returner. Jarrod was a Pro Bowl alternate last year in that position, if I'm not mistaken.

I do believe that Ricky is out there on most ST units.

well, it's crazy to think that coop won't be missed at all. how much? that's the real question. no doubt that the team needs to pick up the slack. maybe it allows someone a chance to shine.

about his attitude, i'll take the word of those who have met the guy as opposed to those who haven't. we've all got problems. just be glad that you're not a professional athlete so that everyone doesn't have to have an opinion when you mess up.

I hope so. I'm thinking Calvin Branch maybe? Fast safeties seem to make good gunners, and Branch hasn't done much of anything since draft day.

Sorry if I seem harsh on a repeat offender, considering the history of this franchise and the guidelines set in place by JDR, Fox, and Hurney.

    Fuck'em

It's not like we haven't had anybody step up to fill other roles this year. He's not that special.

Y2 and xcaliber, I can respect how you feel but I don't have to agree with it. I never once said I back Coop up with what he had done to get the suspension. He's paying the price for what he did. People make mistakes (as we all have in life) and we suffer the consequences of our actions. The Panthers are behind him and he knows that, otherwise he'd already be gone. But yes I do think that the special teams will suffer because he's not out there. If he wasn't one of the best men to send out there, then he wouldn't be playing on every special teams play!

I've already said that Coop is NOT appealing his suspension. He said he was gone on Sunday for the games, so I take that as he's not appealing. That will leave room for Dyson to come off the list, but in 4 games, Coop is right back with the team and the Panthers will have to figure out who to take off the roster. If they decide that Coop is the one to take/keep off, then so be it. But I don't think that will even be the issue.

Now I'm done with this whole thing. The fact of the matter is Coop is gone for 4 games. Doesn't stop the fact that I'm still a Carolina Panther fan and I hope they beat the Cowgirls next weekend.
