I agree it's alot of scratch but considering if he appeals (how long does this take anyway?) he is eating into the last two weeks of the season and would have to work back in to hitting shape. I wonder how ooften appeals work? History goes against him I bet.

I am not sure that is true, and anything to disrupt team chemistry should be considered dangerous on this team. One thing gets out of sync and we could really start being bad again.

I hope Dyson adds enough offensive power to offset the loss of Coop on the ST squad. I would bet good money that we will give up a ST touchdown this season because Coop misses a few games. Cover teams are critical...

I believe that the fine and the suspension are totally separate, so the appeal of the fine won't affect or delay his return. I'm almost certain that he will not appeal the suapension, because that WOULD eat into the end of the season and would mess him up for playoffs. I think they planned the timing this way. You're right, appeals of suspensions don't work too often, but appeals of fines are more routine - it's more like a "renegotiation".

Somebody help me out here - during a suspension, players can't even come near a team facility, right? If that's true, Coop better virtually LIVE at the gym AND find some masochists that he can practice hitting at some non-Panthers field. Sounds like the makings of a good radio promotion: "eighth caller gets to serve an hour of tackling dummy duties for Jarrod Cooper and if they survive they win a pair of tickets to the Detroit game and free chiropractic for a year".

    :D

I think the same is true for Keyshaun down in Tampa (like he is still down there) Can't participate at all with Panthers or Panther facilities. Ask Rashard Anderson

Keyshawn was simply deactivated which means he could have still worked out at One Buc Place and practiced with the team.

The Bucs have asked they he not even show up anymore, so that is a little different...

I just thought of something important...

With Coop suspended, who is going to take over throwing his shoes into the stands at the end of the game? I mean it has fast become a tradition!!!

PP, from what Coop said on Sunday, he's not appealing the suspension. When he said something about 4 weeks, I thought maybe his hamstring was bothering him. He said it wasn't, but that he had to serve the 4 game suspension due to the trouble he got into.

I don't think he can afford that anymore, anyway. He'll have to maybe throw old tape balls up.

Role your eyes all you want CGF, but he's suspened for a reason.

Not the character this teams needs or will miss. He put himself before the team, and THAT disrupts team chemistry. THAT'S a distraction from the team's goal. He's paying more in fines than his salary as it is. Yea, he's a smart one alright. A real key to this teams success...yeah right.

I really wish he wouldn't appeal, because then we'll have to look elsewhere for a roster spot for Dyson, and once Coop is gone, we'll have a vacant. A vacant that we could have kept a player that knows the rules.

she rolled her eyes over the fact you said the Special teams wouldn't miss a beat... she's gone on record to say what he did was wrong... but to say the team would be equally as good without him is just plain wrong... he's a force on kick off and punt returns... if he weren't he wouldn't even be on the football field during those plays... so she was correct in questioning you regarding that
