Solarte is real. He even provided me with a News14 cap one time. Solarte is a righteous dude even if he works for that evil empire w/the VP of PR that makes Tyson's publicist look good.

Man, Hoops knows things that we mere mortals can only dream of. All will come out in due time.
One problem, Gerry V has talent. It kinda blows the theory. :D

Ok, here's the lineup. Solarte & Gil Mc on the tube and Mark & Dukey on the radio with Tony Perry doing sideline reports. Works for me.:D

EDIT: My expectations, no inside knowlege:

Look for the rights to go to WBAV-FM (V101.9) to broadcast games, and WFNZ to broadcast pre&post game shows. (urban audience and larger reach).

I still think the RLJ regional network will be set up along the lines of Comcast SportsNet. I also bet it will be affiliated with Fox as opposed to ESPN. What I can see happening is Fox Sports Net has only 2 feeds, Nashville and Atlanta. On nights when the Hurricanes are playing, they could be shown on the new channel. Conflicts would go to FS Digital Central, zoned specifically for NC.

Atlanta Braves telecasts on Wednesday would be limited to the present market.

I did a WHOIS search on potential names, like:

    timewarnersportsnet.com
    timewarnersportschannel.com
    bobcatssportstv.com
    bobcatssportschannel.com
    rljsportstv.com

All of them are available, so it may not be one of these names.

I am hearing that WPEG/WBAV have made it clear that they have no interest in interupting regular programming to carry the games.

    WSOC-FM is not even a possiblity...they
have a contract atleast 2 years of NASCAR left.

WFNZ doesn't cover the areas that the team has said that they have to cover so they are not an option.

If I were a betting man I would say that Mr Johnson will open his wallet and pay whatever WBT says they have to have.

That's possible, but something inside of me keeps thinking somehow this will stay on an Infinity owned station . . . I don't think any of the Clear Channel outlets would want this either . . . Perhaps the Bobcats should check out 95.7 The Ride :) . . .

    Re: Re: sds70

If Mel K. says you will broadcast it, it will happen. RLJ has just as much pull in the Viacom/Infinity Universe as any local market manager.

With very few exceptions, you are interrupting satellite-delivered/voicetracked programming on WBAV.

WSSS and WNKS are also Infinity stations. Of all of the Infinity FM's, WSSS Star 104.7 is the lowest rated.

WBT took a bath with the Hornets in the final few years, and an even bigger bath with the Panthers. Since J-P is not a particularly large radio group, they don't have the base to spread it, and no logical place to put it.

Out of 29 NBA teams, only 12 are on "Heritage/clear channel (not CC the company)" AM stations.

    Atlanta - WSB 750
    Cleveland - WTAM 1100
    Golden State - KNBR 680
    Houston - KILT 610
    LA Clippers - XTRA 890
    LA Lakers - KLAC 570
    Miami - WIOD 610
    Milwaukee - WTMJ 620
    Minnesota - KFAN 1130
    New Jersey - WOR 710
    New York - WFAN 660
    Philadelphia - WIP 610
