Mecklenburg County Commissioners were floating the idea of putting the ballpark at the site of the current Memorial Stadium; But I don't think this idea went very far  . . Land cost would be cheaper vs. a ballpark in Southend, but I think the main obstacle is the team would still be responsible for building with their own money, which Don Beaver & Co. are only willing to spend $5M (?) to help defray the cost of a potential $20+ million ballpark . . .

BoJo make mistake #1 a couple weeks ago proclaiming the main focus is to be profitable. That had people talking, in negative terms. If you are in the pro sports to be profitable, you are in it for the wrong reasons. Breaking even should be the goal ,and let it be a hobby for billionaires ie: Cuban. The first downfall to the Hornets was letting Zo walk because Shinn's pockets were to cheap or shallow.

Kids have fucked up the NBA. I love basketball, but not the NBA anymore. 80's NBA? Yes. But not today.

i'm happier that a new arena is beeing built. the nba is icing on the cake. i think the nba is gonna pick back up in a few years- once gms and coaches realize that just b/c a player is an uber-athlete, doesnt make him a good bball player.
