I agree w/ your point, he was qualified for the job. I just had a funny thought of Farrahkan hosting Nascar. That would be funny:p

I don't know how many of you are actually Rush's listeners, but I am one. He has a BLACK man, Walter Williams host his show when he is on vacation about once a month. I don't think a racist would entrust a black man for show that makes him $20 million a year.

also, the ESPN show with Rush was flawed. Rush was required to "challenge" points during the show. Thats what they were paying him to do. Even if he agreed with everything being said, he had to interject with another opinion. I am sure many of his "challenges" were things he made up just to give and oposing view, and not believe it himself. Was the McNabb comment a situation like this? who knows, but he isn't racist.

As I have said before, Trent Green, Gannon, Bledsoe, Garcia, etc all have higher lifetime QB ratings than McNabb, but for some reason, McNabb gets alot of accolades and more hype. Probably because he is a good player on a good team. I will always believe, that was Rush's point.

    Hey good points!

    Not

    >>McNabb
He's never seen the talent the other mentioned QB's have seen around them, WR's or RB's. McNabb has been the MVP of his team for almost as long as he's been there.

    >>Rush
I used to listen to Rush a longtime ago, and like I said, a lot of people think their not prejudice, but they really are and don't know it. Or they know it deep down, but try over compensate. Even gay people get married and claim their straight, have kids, and all that, but their still gay.

The whole point is Rush said something he shouldn't have and he's in damage control mode, or he's milking the publicity for all he can.

Big deal. Taking into consideration some of the other racist statements Rush has made over the years, I don't think hiring a black guy puts him in the clear. Hate to keep using Farakhan, but I'm sure he has employed several whites. would you consider that to mean he isn't a racist?

    What if Rush had said....

"I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black head coach do well. There is a little hope invested in Marvin Lewis, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he didn't deserve. Jack Del Rio carried his defense in Baltimore and he never proved himself in Washington"

"I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the boxing world. The media has been very desirous that a white heavyweight do well. There is a little hope invested in Tommy Morrison, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of a fight that he didn't deserve. The WBA hand picked opponents for him that were out of shape or undersized, so he would do well."

Why does the line, "I can't be a racist! Some of my best friends are black!" come to mind here.

Rush tried to do something on ESPN that he gets away with impunity on his own show. He tosses in a hyperbolic bombshell to make a point. He got called on this one.

His point wasn't that McNabb is overated. His point was that McNabb is overated because he is "Black." Rush introduced race into it to take a jab at the media. It bit him in the ass.

McNabb has started for the Eagles since the 2000 season. In that time, the Eagles offense has never ranked higher than 10th in the league in yards gained. In fact, their 10th-place rank in 2002 was easily their best; in their two previous seasons, they were 17th in a 32-team league. They rank 31st so far in 2003.

In contrast, the Eagles defense in those four seasons has never ranked lower than 10th in yards allowed. In 2001, they were seventh; in 2002 they were fourth; this year they're fifth. It shouldn't take a football Einstein to see that the Eagles' strength over the past few seasons has been on defense, and Limbaugh is no football Einstein, which is probably why he spotted it.

The news that the Eagles defense has "carried" them over this period should be neither surprising nor controversial to anyone with access to simple NFL statistics—or for that matter, with access to a television. Yet, McNabb has received an overwhelming share of media attention and thus the credit. Now why is this?

It's all good Metro, it wasn't meant personal. I wasn't insulted and you shouldn't be either. I just think Rush is a racist pompass ass son of a bitch piece of shit that probably in another time would have been a slave owner, but that doesn't mean I think any less of you or a Rush supporter. It's just my opinion of him

You are dead wrong, wrong, wrong!

A.J. Feeley (white 3rd string scrub) went 5 and 1 to close out the year last year with the exact same shitty team. Outperforming McNabb in most categories except rushing. What does that say about your comment above? Only one thing. It's wrong.

You could make the argument the Eagles may have won the NFC Championship with Feeley instead of McNabb. One thing thing that is not up for debate, McNabb lost the NFC Championship game.
