He is considered questionable for next week due to hurt feelings. I remember when we drafted him people were saying how tough he was and how he was going to teach Timmay to play with pain. What a joke. I wanted us to take Duece Mcallister at the time. For a while there I thought I was wrong but I was not. I am glad we have Stephen Davis and all but if we had taken McAllister instead of Morgan we would be that much better off. Granted I also wanted Lamont Jordan instead of Kris Jenkins, which would have been a huge mistake. I am glad we finally have a real tailback.

Morgan needs to find a way to stay on the field. If can not suck it up and play this year then we need to find a replacement for next season. I do not want to drag it out for five years like we did with Timmay waiting on him to finally stay healthy.

That wasn't people... it was everyone. He never missed a game in college, hence the statement.

Too bad he hasn't lived up to that for us. When he's on the field he is a definite presence and we are a better team but I too am sick of this bullshit.

I dont follow college football that closely and the only thing I really had against him at the time was the fact that I saw a much greater need at running back. He is good when he is on the field but that is not very often. If he misses half the games this year I would find a replacement and let him either be cut or come off the bench.

Dan Morgan is a player that can be the leader of the defense when healthy. Even though that hasn't been very often, I personally think it is the result of him coming back so soon from a broken leg. Every injury I can think of that has kept him out of games, have been leg injuries. If he played last weekend with a pulled hamstring and seriously injured the leg, then you guys would be griping about that injury. The best thing for a hamstring injury is to let it heal completely or he'll be out more and more for that injury. I know from personal experience that if you don't rehab it correctly it will be a nagging injury for years. You can pull it very easily.

When you get after him for getting injured and not playing, remember that he was playing with a broken hand. Also, the majority of his injuries are a result of him going 100% all the time including practice. When he gets healthy and he can tone it down some, then I think he can play at the level everyone expects him to.

If we cut him like some of you are suggesting, then I can guarantee you that he'll stick it too us when he plays against us down the road.

Just my opinion, but I happen to think he's a heck of a player.

rams he is a damn good player but we have we seen it... out of 30 some odd games he could have played in he's played in only 21 or something around that figure. I don't want to cut the man I just want him healthy and on the field.

That broken leg was in 2001 coming back too soon from it would have no effect on his play in 2003.

And about the 100% during practice... he didn't do that this year to in effect keep him healthy, which hasn't worked.

Everyone agrees that Morgan is a playmaker and a difference maker but none of that is happening in a T-shirt on the sidelines.

I supported the drafting of Morgan, it is just a shame he has turned into such an injury case. I know he is intense, but I have heard he is not a real gym rat say like a Lester Towns. Perhaps if he adopted a Ray Lewis type of workout ethic he could stay on the field more. Just speculation on my part....For now he sort of reminds me of another one who could have been....

I think you`ll find some Ravens fans who`ll tell you that Lewis has been injured too much.
Hell we`re winning, thats all I care about.

Agreed, PF. I was thinking Boz before I even saw the pic you posted.

I am not ashamed to say I jumped up and down and squealed like a little girl when Morgan fell to us in the draft. He came out as the most decorated defensive player in college football history, and our best linebacker at the time was Lester Towns, follwed by Dean Wells.

Sure there were other impact players there. At #11 overall, there always is. But Morgan was everything you dream of in a 1st rounder -- superior work ethic, zero injury history, flexibility, loads of intangibles, an immediate impact starter with relatively shallow pockets who's in a big hurry to get to camp. If memory serves, he was one of the first 1st rounders to sign a contract that year. It just doesn't get any better or any safer than that.

That being said, hind sight can be a bitch.

But there are no guarantees. Clinton Portis could have just as easily gotten blown up as DeShaun Foster (yeah, I know Foster got banged up in college). McAllister could've gotten blown up, too, or just ineffective behind our OL. The list goes on and on.

The fact remains, Morgan can't stay healthy, and nobody seems to know why. I hope beyond hope it's as simple as an adjustment in his offseason workout regimen. If not, it's time to either move him to the outside where he won't get beat up as much, or let him go outright. I hate to say that, because he's been my favorite Panther since he was drafted. But this is a team sport, and when you're chasing a championship, you can't hold the team back to give one guy an umpteenth chance to come back, even one as talented as Dan Morgan.

He has what doctors unofficially call Biakabutukaitis. If it's not one things...it's another. I can't help but wonder if Moose didn't sneeze on him and give him this Hammy problem?
We need him on the field, cuz if he can't stay healthy we'll drop him come contract time...then he'll suddenly find the fountian of health. I can see it coming!

Yup, Maybe he needs a big long dose of the cold shoulder from his coaches, teammates, and the damn media who have been telling him only how great he is since he came to town. Once he starts feeling “replaced” I bet he would suddenly start actin’ all WELL an’ shit.)
