Boys of summer..

Damn it been a while since i've been on this board.. just wanted to check in with everybody.. I pretty much slept the summer away working 3rd shift but I did make it to a few concerts.

WARPED TOUR:


Best concert all summer!! Punk is the best music out today. We saw:

The Atari's- for two songs.. we deemed them gay and moved on.

Suicide Machines- were the most impressive band of the day. they mainly played their first album.. Very up beat and intense.

S.T.U.N. - Wow.... really impressed me... Cath you have to buy this album if you haven't already. Great live show and great sound.

No Face- we saw one song.. deemed them gay and moved on..

Less Than Jake - Wasn't impressed.. Good musicans.. just not good music.

Posion the Well - C is for cookie. I liked the music.. get rid of the singer..

Rancid - Not a long enough of a set from the punk legends.. They opened with "Radio" (one of my favs) Did a few new songs and their set was over just as they were getting warmed up..

a.f.i.- One of the best bands out there to day.. once again they were just getting warmed up when thier set was over.. They closed with "god called in sick today" great song to download. Goth punk at its best.

A long day but for $33 it was the best concert for you money. You don't see the ego's, huge stage productions, or the overall rockstar attitudes.

 

Ozzfest

was next on the list. Probably the biggest let down.. This tour use to be great. Now it is over priced and lame. You have the cookie monster fest on the side stage and lame fest on the main stage.. Ozzy needs to stop touring.. He looked like some on shoved a stick up his ass and wheeled him on stage. He should be the poster child for D.A.R.E.. I wouldn't take drugs if I thought I would end up like him..

Motograter - Impressive... They are a bit trendy. but I a sucker for bands that paint up and use a lot of drums.. very heavy... Cath check them out

Twisted Method - We deemed them gay and moved on.

Killswitch Engage - Cookie monster.. They had their moments... not a fan though

Shadows Fall - Cookie monster.. More Cookie monster then I expected.. They are a good band... I'll have to try and get over his vocals though..

Cradle of Filth (Cradle of fucking cheesy ass band)- Do these guys actually think they are good?? Vocals that range from extremly high to low.. the music it good at times then just goes no where.. I have offically deemed them the worst band I have ever seen.

Chevelle - We deemed them gay and moved on....

Disturbed- Have they lost their edge already?? Not very impressed with them either.... I've seen them 3 other times but they were just kind of boring..

Marilyn Manson - Is the shit.. Loud, offensive, and confusing everybody. He played a decent mix of his albums old and new. He didn't touch POTAF.. which sucks...

KORN- Great, Awsome, loud,... I still love these guys.. A great set from these guys... They are going to be around for a long time.


Ozzy - RETIRE!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought the S.T.U.N. album a few weeks ago - really good, one of the best CDs I've bought this year. Not all that heavy - bet lex would like them!

twig comes and goes. that is what happens when you got a girl friend/significant other!

i will like STUN? man, i better be on it then. like twig, i have been busy...ya know...just living...

cath, remember that project i told you about months ago? well, i am reaping the fruits of my labor now! my life is different now...better! i like the change. if this is what living is gonna be like for me, then, i want to live for a very very long time...

i'm sure our musical tastes differ, but i rather like chevelle. haven't seen them live, tho. the first album is better and a bit less radio friendly...
