I know what he's going through. No matter how tough you are, hearing those 3 words "you have cancer" changes your life in an instant. It's not a good feeling. But I have confidence if anybody can beat it, it's Mills. Prayers going out to him and Mark Fields. Hopefully they'll get whatever treatments they need to beat it and be back soon.

Man that's a tough one. I was just speechless after they announced it and then went to break. I thought it sucked the way he did it, but how do you say it?

I met Sam in Spartenburg. He's awesome. I wish him the best an d hope it all works out.

That had to be hard to get up for a game on hearing the news, and preseason no less. I have no problem with the first team defense last. I thought they played outstanding considering.

Minter (and others) were in tears after the game over the news about Sam. Sam IS the Carolina Panthers. Through all the bad, we can always be proud of Sam and hope that young players follow his lead and not that of those who "go bad". I've met him several times at events, and aside from being a great football player, Sam is just the type of HUMAN BEING this world needs.

    Devastating news

I was so upset when I heard this horrible news last night. I've met Sam before. What a charming, wonderful man. I will definitely add him to my prayer list.

I'll be praying for Sam. I remember watching him when he starred in the USFL. He was awesome then and I followed him as one of my favorite players when he played for the Saints. So I was elated when he came to the Panthers.

The more I keep hearing about people getting sick the luckier I feel to have my health.
