This is an absolute steal for the Mavs. A very good starter for a backup point guard? Can't beat that on any day.

They could have if the Mavs would've gotten a rebounder who plays defense instead. They don't need another shooter. Especially one making max money.

Jamison avg'd 7 reb a game and they also got Fortson who is a really good rebounder.

Yep, I think this improved the Mavs for sure. Now maybe it's not exactly what the Mavs needed, but you sometimes have to take the smaller step forward in hopes that you can take a few more along the way instead of just one very big step.

Question is... what the fuck are the Warriors doing? I've never understood the premise of unloading your best player just because he makes a lot of $$.

Stupid trade for them. Dallas is a lot better now. They needed inside scoring to go with there array of weapons.

Van Exel was awesome in the playoffs last yr, so they are gonna miss him but I'd much rather have Jamison.

Well the Warriors are the Warriors, no reason for them to start being smart now.

That's what I keep reading. That there will be more to come down the road in personnel moves. And I agree with y'all that if Fortson will stay out of trouble he will help. But we're still talking about a shoot first small forward on a team full of shooters.

Don't get me too wrong...I like the kid and think Dallas stole him. But Van Exel is SUPER CLUTCH in the playoffs while Jamison has never been there AND makes a pile of cash. There is a downside that is there unless you focus ONLY on his offensive numbers. Ever see Jamison play D? I haven't. Dallas will still have to win games 124-118.

Warriors are looking for cap room and to see if the Dunleavy kid can play. Like Fever said - same old Warriors. Van Exel will turn sour again playing there.
