During last night's SF / Oakland game, the announcers were talking about Terrell Owens is in his last year of his contract and that he was looking to get paid. If the 49ers don't resign him, they'll Franchise him AND the only team he is willing to consider right now is Atlanta. They would be willing to work a deal similar to Peerless Price (first round picks).

It just gives me cold sweats to have to face Vick, Price, and Owens on the same field twice a year. Sure, the Falcons would mortgage the future and blow their cap away (probably to the detriment of their defense) but man that is a scary thought.

With those three I don't see how they could pay anyone else.

Seems like Atlanta is becoming the Miami of the NFL. Everyone wants to play there.

That is scary...I do wish that Arthur Blank could buy the Braves so they could afford all of their top players. With an owner who has the cash, they would have been able to afford Millwood.

So you are asking Blank to throw away millions and milions of his own dollars because baseball players all think they have a right to a 8 figure salary?

Amendment to above statement: strike the word baseball and insert all pro athletes. The NFL will be as guilty of overpaying as the other sports as the agents figure out new approaches and loopholes to the salary cap issues.

I agree - but their contracts aren't guaranteed, so it is at least somewhat managible. The amount of dead money baseball teams are carrying is staggering.

Owens is gonna want David Boston money, and then some. He's going to get signed to some absolutely ridiculous contract.
