    of course there are going to be exceptions. Someone wins the lottery every once in a while also.

    N Mex State (or N Mex) is not 1AA. They play in the WAC, or something. Nto big time football, but still 1A.

    Now Walter Payton and Jerry Rice were not 1A players. Not sure what division they're schools were. But their talent was OVERWHELMING, so they were worth the risk, IMHO.
