Shocker, you have some serious issues.

Two words for you: "anger management".

Rodney White was the NBA player of the week following his triple double (one of 8 players to get one this season - all big names) against the Dallas Mavericks on March 24th. His line: 39 mins, 8-14, 17 pts, 12 rebs, 10 assists, 1 block, 1 steal, 4 TOs, 2 PF. An excellent game against one of the best teams in the league.

What's more, starting March 21st, when he began consistently starting and getting PT his numbers were as follows:

(Not counting the last game against Houston that he didnt start & scored 0 in limited PT - they emptied the bench for that one)

    G 14 GS 13 MPG 28.4 PPG 12.2 RPG 4.0 APG 3.3 TPG 2.2

You can check this source for the stats, but notice how many double figure games he had down the stretch on a team with NO decent PG to set him up. He had to do it himself & they often ran the offense through him since they didnt have a point. He was being asked to do too many things.

And if you watched any of the games, you saw and heard how the commentary on how much better he was doing & how pleased they were with his pogress.

He wont be an all-star next year on anytime soon, but I can see Denver drafting Darko (bye bye Juwan), signing Gilbert Arenas, and Rodney having an entire season where he averages about 30 mpg, 14.5 ppg & 4 or 5 assists & rebounds. The new players will help cement that team's rotation and the confidence and PT for him will help tremendously.

Why would Detroit pass up the star for another Ben Wallace? They already have presence inside.
I'm sure it's nice that Darko can play outside a little.

    LOL,

Well maybe I went off on him a little, but it just bugs me when the best argument someone can make is something like "he/she/it sucks".

Come at me with a little more than that :)

And FWIW, Rodney did suck the last 1.75 seasons.

He may. I'm also pretty sure that people don't think of him as more than a decent defender.
Anthony's the better player, IMO. He would compliment Hamilton very well, and take up any slack that Billups seems to leave offensively. They're one of the lowest scoring teams offensively to make it in, and that punch seems necessary to be at the next level. D was never a concern.

But tell the truth, I've never seen Darko play. I don't put that much thought into basketball. What I've read is that he plays well outside but in closer he needs to back to the basket - problematic with a defensive center IMO.
But if they went that way, that's probably not terrible - both are young, both will probably struggle some on a playoff team, both can bring good things, both could be great in a couple of years.

just to let you know- i do agree with you that carmello is a much better fit than darko for detroit. detroit has the infrastructure to be competitive for a few years with minor upgrades- and carmello is one of those. darko is more of a project and probably wont produce solid consistent numbers until his 3rd season.

I would say that NONE of those comments merits me even arguing with you about Rodney. Like I said, mediocre at best IMO. Pimping White as a top NBA player is laughable.

Since when did "doing allright" and "mediocre" not mean the same thing?

Who the hell pimped Rodney as a "top NBA player"?

Do you just make up what you need to fuel your ire?

Rodney made great strides at the end of last season to cement his place in the starting lineup. I think next year he'll fully assert himself in that role. Somehow, you turned that into what you want to hear because you think you are pulling my string.
