According to USA TODAY, it's going to be the 13-year-old girl Wie regardless of what Annika does this weekend. Wie wants to play on both the Nationwide tour and LPGA events.

This is an interesting twist----GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. -- Unfazed by critics, Annika Sorenstam said Wednesday that she believes she can win the Bank of America Colonial next week.

Misses the cut by 6 strokes. The approach shots will take their toll.

Don't join Vijay because he is an idiot.

On a shorter course for the men, they might leave driver in the bag because accuracy will be more important than length in a tournament like this, which takes the power game of the men out of play for the most part (save for the par 5's). If she putts well enough (and the same can be said for the field) then she can hang with the boys.

I take you to task on your stance about earning her spot. The sponsor gets eight exemptions in this tournament and they can give them to anyone they want. There are seven other gentlemen that did not earn the right to play and there are folks each week that play who did not earn the right to play in the event. Amateurs play in PGA events all the time, you just rarely hear about them because they never make the cut. These players get these exemptions because the sporsors front the money and sometimes you want a local pro or another big name who did not otherwise qualify to play in your event in order to draw more attention to it.

USA will be carrying this on Thursday and Friday and CBS carries it on Saturday and Sunday and don't think I won't be watching the coverage and you will too. That's the reason for doing it, but you must admit a lot of people have weighed in a lot of opinions worldwide about her chances of making it. Because of her golf prowess in the past several years, I think she has earned the right to give this a chance. It has been a long time coming and I hope it's not the last time a woman is invited to play. Golf is one of those sports that does not match me versus you, but rather my skill playing the course versus your skill playing the course. It's the golfer versus the course and she has proven her ability to play a golf course. Perhaps the reason she won 13 tournaments last year is that she plays too long to be fairly paired against women and the men is a good next step.

I didn't mean to go on a rant here... of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I didn't join Vjay at all. I have my own opinions about life and one of them is that you work for what you get and she is getting a spot that she did not work for. By her taking a sponsors exemption as a woman then she is knocking out someone else that has made a showing somewhere on the PGA tour or it's farm club (so to speak). They don't just pick John Doe off the street and put him in there.
But, I do look forward to seeing her play and I will watch .I hope she does well. I watch her every chance I get and she is the best as far as I am concerned. I hope she proves them all wrong on the finish. There is talk now that some of the Nike men are going for the same thing on the LPGA so it should get interesting watching these guys play from the up tees and walk off with the money if they do.:)

whatever - I'll sleep through her golf tournament on TV just like all the others. I don't care if she wins , finishes tied for 10th or misses the cut. But I'll say this, other than an every once in awhile sponsors exemption I think if she wants to play on the PGA tour she needs to go out and qualify for a card like everyone else, then earn her spot by finishing in the money.

Something I think you guys are missing...

If she gets say six sponsors exemptions and plays in six tournaments and makes the cut in four or five or so and finishes in the top 10 in a couple and happens to even win one, she automatically qualifies for a lot of events the next year. That's the easier way then the qualifying school to earn a tour card (though I;m not sure you get a card just by winning an event, but I know you get to play in the PGA Championship and a bunch of other events by winning a tour stop. If she finishes so high on the money list, she "qualifies" for a lot of things.

Not saying it will happen... but the possibility is there. Would she earn her way in that way?

She hasn't "earned" the right until she grows a penis... call it what you will but like I said MEN can't play on the LPGA tour so women shouldn't be allowed on the PGA tour plain and simple... if there was one league and it was ONLY men I could see you points, but there's an available league for women to play... PERIOD
