Dude, lay off Mel Kiper. He's the coolest dude on the block. I've never heard him be wrong about a single thing, and agree with everything he ever has to say.

Mel Kiper Jr, on the other hand, is a moronic ass.

he's too emotionally based in what he says. He, like so many of his type, over criticize a team for thinking differently than he does - which is wrong, IMO. If a move is strong or weak, it's by itself. Then there's "now, if it were mine to do...", not "should have taken x rather than y." Being able to differentiate is huge. So yes, he's a hothead. Very irrational in that situation.
As we've talked about before with this guy, he's also very mercurial in his rankings. A player shouldn't fluctuate that much based on individual success or failure week to week.

Overall, though, I believe there's way too big of an expectation of him. He's not going to plug in and understand the thought process of each team, and he's not going to have the same draft board as every team. So differences arise. Is he a good talent evaluator? Sure. Offensively he's decent, strong point being RB, weaker points of his being IMO to be QB and OL. Maybe that's because he puts too much into workouts (odd, since he's so day to day with players based on on-field performance) and numbers. Defensively, he seems to know ends (one of the hardest for me to judge), linebackers, and is very hit or miss on the rest.

Like anyone else, take what he says with a grain of salt, be as prepared yourself as possible, including individual evaluation, study, and reading as many other credible opinions as possible. And enjoy him as a man with an opinion, not necessarily an expert.

You've got to realize, first and foremost hes an entertainer. And whether you admit it or not year after year we tune in so he can blow more smoke up our asses.

He has a lot of "debate" about him. Thats why anyone listens to him or cares. He seems right on at times and brings something to the table. Other times he goes against common sense.

All in all he is fine with me. A bit annoying but the guy obviously loves what he does and has a passion for it. He is a bit annoying at times - but not too bad.
