With speed like that you could even play him at safety teamed with Minter. Would be hell of a duo.

The younger brother of NFL star Champ, Boss Bailey is by far the best in a weak crop of outside linebackers. One of the best athletes in the draft with great speed and an unbelievable vertical leap. Bailey has the skills of a safety and the size of a linebacker. He missed the 2000 season with a knee injury but solidified his place in the first round with great seasons in 2001 and 2002. Bailey is an excellent open field tackler with awesome speed--can make tackles sideline to sideline. Boss is also a very effective blitzer. His great athletic ability and instincts make him excellent in coverage. He is like having an extra safety on the field during passing downs. He has the skills to excel as an outside linebacker in both the 3-4 and 4-3 defensive schemes. Bailey is a true "student of the game"; he spends alot of time studying film and is always prepared on gameday. He needs to work on his tackling technique, but has the talent to be an impact player as a rookie. At the end of the season, I saw Bailey going in the 2nd half of the first round. Since his impressive workout, Boss should be a top 10 pick.

I'd go so far as to say that Bailey could turn out to be a game changing type guy. With his speed and cover ability I think he could be lethal in this defense. I just see a guy like him coming like a shotgun blast on the blitz and creating a lot of turnovers in coverage with his speed.

He is gonna be a huge playmaker for someone. There is way too much talent there. When he is taught the mental part of the game - you're probably looking at special one of a kind type player.

On this defense - he could be sickening. He wouldn't hurt against Vick either.

Lastly, Brian Urlacher was seen as a safety in a LBs body too. Boss fits at our vacant WOLB position perfectly IMO.

Oh and like Mags mentioned - I WOULD take Boss if I were Del Rio in Jax. Trufant or Boss would be my pick - NO QUESTION. Either fill huge needs and both fit exactly what Del Rio wants per his defensive philo. I'd be shocked atp not to see one of those to the jags.
