I have a PDF convert program for a PC.

So you have a screen shot you want in PhotoImpact? Next time, when you do the screen shot, go to PhotoImpact, create new, and paste. Then you can save as a jpeg.

If you want e-mail the file you have, I'll convert it for you.

Word doesnt save any files in picture formats. If you have a picture in word it's embedded and is saved somewhere else on your HD, most likely your temp folder.

But anyway, the easiest way to do it is to right click on the image in Word, copy, and then open your image editor and paste (as new).

The easiest way to do it is if you have a video capture program, display the doc and capture the image from the screen thensave it as a bitmap or jpeg.

no as in start the capture utility and pick the screen area with your mouse. print screen captures the whole screen background garbage and all.

If the picture is only in Word right now, it may have been converted to an embedded image (contrary to other posts, Word does include images in the word doc itself, they're not stored in some other file, easily proved as I can send you my word doc and you'll still see the images). You can still simply select it, copy, open MSPaint, paste, save as, select JPG, and you're all set.
