I think also with Satelite internet access, you cannot upload, only download. I heard that once and never thought about it again. I don't know if it's still true, or ever was really.

For those of you that pay for DSL and RR, have you looked into Earthlinks DSL? They advertise $41.95/month instead of the standard $49.49/month. I dunno, 8 bucks is 8 bucks, it's like free Showtime if you get HBO.

That's the problem with being here in York Co., SC. One is limited to a singular provider. No competition at all, and yet, somehow, it's legal.

I live in York Co and use Bellsouth DSL. We didn't have the option of cable when we got DSL. 12 months later cable TV, and internet service came along. Unless it's cheaper why bother to change. The speeds of both kick dialup to the curb but both are fast enough for me. That and who wants to send out emails to all of your friends and families "Here is my new email address....."

Are you in Lake Wylie? That's a BellSouth area.

We use DSL at work. We consistently get 908 / 208 and we have upwards of 15 PCs browsing at any given time. Not too bad.
