    I like the move... simply because it helps the price... they are still making them optional and that's all that matters... if they'd cut them out totally then yeah that'd be a mistake

    a floppy drive is $10 at most. Thats not what I consider 'helping' the price.

    Blame the perplexing failure of LS-120 drives (I blame Iomega).

    The standard floppy has been a piece fo useless crap for years. The last 4 machines Ive built havent had them, even though my ex-roommate wanted one in the box I made for him.

    If you can boot off CD and you have a rewritable CD drive, what's the point? Its not like you can fit anything of consequence on a floppy disk.

    I use bootable floppy disks for imaging and disk management. Sure I can't get much of anything on a floppy because of it's capacity, but what I do put on there is of much consequence.
