We met with Kaleb Elarms-Orr at the combine but we met with a lot of people at the combine.

Here's another stab at a mock draft. I like doing these to get more familiar with which prospects might be available in each round.

I am still stuck on the trade down.

Would you take 30 and 43 from Dolphins for 19 and 83?

Dolphins major need is WR and I am thinking if one drops to us, we might get more value taking the trade than spending on a WR3?

If you do that you're basically saying that you don't like any of the first round prospects and want to get two really good defensive prospects at low value positions.

A trade down that makes more sense for us, assuming we want a Wide Receiver in the first, is to call up Philadelphia and see if they like anyone enough to move up to 19. We could get their third rounder and the 23rd pick for 19.

You can do that if both Cooper and Concepcion are still available, because after Philly picks, you would have Dallas, Pittsburgh, and LA Chargers. Philly needs a Safety and interior Offensive Lineman, Dallas needs a Tackle, Pittsburgh needs Defensive Backs and will probably take Ty Simpson anyway, and the Chargers need a Cornerback.

It's possible that both Dallas and the Chargers decide to go WR and mess up our plans, but more likely that we get a guy we like and an extra third rounder. If we traded with Chicago the same logic applies, but then we have Cleveland added to the mix and I think they would go get Shedeur a target, so you're sure to miss on one. Houston at 28 is another possibility, but then we're behind Buffalo and San Francisco. At that point, we're probably looking at Linebacker for our first pick.

I am firmly settled into the notion that if Concepcion is there, he's our pick at 19. And in the second, we're probably looking at Haulcy. Morgan is going to miss out on one of the top Linebackers and take Delp in the third.

This draft has about 10-12 guys w first round grade and I doubt we get one at 19. From 15-50, the grades are all similar, so I was just playing numbers and trying to pick up another in the middle of that sweet spot.

A first round grade is only good as a phrase. History has shown that, percentage wise, first round picks don't have better, more productive careers that much more than second or third round picks. The draft is built for league parity, barring the occasional first round freaks, it has mostly worked out that way.

it also assumes that teams grades are correct. When they are at best 50% in the first.

How many teams had a first round grade on Shedeur Sanders last year?

Do you have a TL/DW for those of us who don't have an hour to invest?
