Here are the questions I have going into Training Camp.
    • Who starts at Tight End? If we're primarily a running team, then I think Tremble makes sense. But will Sanders improve enough as a blocker to take the starting role from him?
    • Will Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette manage to keep Coker on the bench?
    • Does David Moore get a roster spot? Cutting him only costs $560K. We're keeping TMac, XL, Coker, and Thielen, so that leaves at most two spots and you have three players fighting for them. I imagine they don't want to risk putting Horn on the practice squad, so it's between Moore and Renfrow. If Renfrow returns to his 2021 form, Moore could be a casualty. And one of the UDFA receivers could emerge as well.
    • Will DJ Johnson get another year? He improved last year and is admittedly still learning the position. He's only 26 and still has upside. Most important, I have read that Morgan was the one who convinced Fitterer to trade up for him. Amare Barno is headed back to the Practice Squad for sure.
    • Are we seriously going to start Demani Richardson at Free Safety? I sure hope not...
    • The Matthew Wright thing is a joke, right? The guy's been on just about every roster in the league. If he was worth a damn, he would have stuck somewhere.
    • Is Tershawn Wharton an actual upgrade over A'Shawn Robinson? It's pretty clear that Bobby Brown III is better than Shy Tuttle, but Wharton and Robinson have about the same PFF grade and Robinson is bigger and better against the run.
    • Who is a wider human being, Cam Jackson or Robert Hunt?

So TE Evans is not getting any starting reps?

Evans was a fifth round pick for a reason. He might develop into something good, but he needs to develop. If he's starting, there's a problem.

I think he can get plenty of playing time though, but that's up to how he does in practice. He's probably somewhere between Sanders and Tremble in catching and blocking, and that versatility can come in handy, but he needs time.

The team probably views Robinson and Wharton as co-starters. Wharton is here to rush the passer, Robinson is here to stop the run. A'Shawn had to play way too many pass downs last year due to the state of the defensive line. That's never been his gig, and the team recognized that.

It's an expensive way to duplicate Milton Williams, but that's another topic.

I think the Browns are going to make Robinson's job a ton easier. I wonder if they are going to keep Jackson in rotation at the nose only, or if he will play 3-tech also. And what are we doing with Crumedy? He was hurt last year but I can't see them giving up on him already.
