Are we really going to consult Steve Smith whenever we're drafting a WR? Is that part of Tepper's process now?

I love 89, but for fuck sake.

I would have taken Noah Sewell over a backup nickleback, but I'm not a hedge fund manager.

Philly getting DeAndre Swift for a couple of used condoms is kind of awesome. That team is so god damn loaded. I think they have a good chance to shatter the Super Bowl hangover myth.

Yeah, I’m happy to see them get him. The line play wins games. I hope they bull rush the ball down defenses throats.

And this just may be naive optimism, but the cube in the war room seems different, in a better, more intense, directed way. That said, your earlier statement about the picks being “superfluous” was deserved.

    So....

Young at #1 is fine with me, but the process to get there sucked. On the day of that trade, I said that he would have to be a multi-year all-pro for this to be a success. It's not fair to Bryce, but that's just reality of the situation. He can't just be a Dak or a Tua.

Mingo's lack of production in college is concerning, but his big plays are fun to watch, and after listening to him talk I'm pretty fired up. The kid loves ball. I see the upside, and even if he never gets there, the floor of rocked-up gadget player is still very useful. Maybe he can take RB snaps and return kicks? He looks pretty damn good running with the football.

Johnson is mystery meat. That one feels like this year's version of Brandon Smith. You take a guy who looks the part getting of the bus and hope you can coach a good football player out of that.

Zavala is the perfect day 3 draft pick. The team needed guard insurance, and if he ends up being better than a backup, it gives you some fun options on the OL next offseason. Maybe you bump Christiansen back out to OT and save a bunch of money by moving on from Moton, for instance.

Robinson will probably be fighting Rowe and Franklin for snaps, and potentially a roster spot. At this point, I'm assuming Chinn will be the starting nickle, and Evero will roll with a 3 safety, "nickle to everything" base defense. That just makes the most sense based on the scheme and roster construction. You wouldn't roster this many safeties if you were planning on playing a cornerback at nickle.
