    Let's get on with this.

    Round 1, Pick 6

Charles Cross - OT - Mississippi State
    6'5" 305lbs

    Historic Panther Comp: Jordan Gross

The cleanest left tackle prospect in this draft, Cross was a five star recruit who consistently played at a high level in college. The Mike Leach thing is the dark lining in the silver cloud, and maybe he won't hit the ground running like Neal or Ickey, but I'll bet on him having the most stable career of the three.

    Round 4, Pick 137

Damone Clark - LB - LSU
    6"2 240lbs

    Historic Panthers Comp: James Anderson

Spinal fusion surgery will force him into a redshirt year, but he otherwise would have been a top 100 pick. This is one for the next coaching staff. In the meantime, let him watch how Shaq goes about his business.

    Round 5 - Pick 144

    Thayer Munford - T/G - Ohio State
    6"5. 320lbs

    Historic Panther Comp: Jeremy Bridges

There's a debate over his best NFL position, which means he'll likely swing at both. Probably on the right side, however.

    Round 5, Pick 149

Matt Waletzko- T - North Dakota State
    6'8" 312lbs

    Historic Panther Comp: Matt Willig

Here is the anti-Brady Christiansen. Waletzko has a 7'1" wingspan and is still young (22), but literally faced nobody in college. He's a complete NFL unknown. But it's the fifth round, and I feel good about Munford as the reliable swing guy, so fuck it.

    Round 6, Pick 199

    Smoke Monday - S - Auburn
    6'2" 205lbs

Historic Panther Comp - Tre Boston

Every team needs a sociopath or two. I like this pick because the Panthers have quality secondary and special teams coaches. They'll mold him into a productive NFL player.

    Round 7, Pick

    Isaiah Weston, WR, N Iowa
    6'3" 210 lbs

Historic Panthers Comp: The love child of Drew Carter and Devin Funchess

Weston has hands of stone and no route tree, but he made plays down the field at Northern Iowa, averaging over 20 ypr last season.

    Here's the deal.

I don't give a shit about saving Matt Rhule's job. That's why I didn't get cute and finesse a trade back to get an upgrade over Darnold. If you want to pick up Mayfield or Garoppolo, fine, but I'm drafting for the future, which is why all of these players are young (only Weston is older than 22) and can fit into multiple schemes. Never draft out of desperation. It never works.

Let's stop doing stupid shit, and then try that for multiple seasons consecutively. Just don't do stupid shit. Make good decisions.

Rather than take Cross or Neal, who are still available at six, Fitterer engineers a trade down to the middle of the first in exchange for a pick in the middle of the third and a 2023 2nd. When our pick comes up, Cross, Neal, and Penning are all gone. Turns out we were never really sold on Pickett, and all three of the top QBs are still available, so we flip the pick to Pittsburgh and get another third rounder. Pittsburgh takes Willis, and at 20 we end up with the BPA on our board, either Trent McDuffie (CB) or Daxton Hill (S).

In the second round, it's getting on towards the end and Howell is still available. We package one of our thirds, one of our fourth picks, and our fifth to move up and take him.

In the third, we have a pick in the middle of the round but there's no one we really like, so we trade down again for two in the fourth.

In the fourth, we are armed with three picks, which we use to take a Left Tackle who has a high RAS score but no on-the-field accomplishments, declaring that he has a 2nd round grade on our board and we're thrilled to get him. We also grab the best player left who played at Temple, and a WR with good traits but a drops problem that caused him to slip.

In the fifth, we draft a FG kicker who ends up on the practice squad before minicamp is over.

In the sixth, we take the biggest O-Lineman left in hopes that Rhule can unlock potential that his college coaches couldn't.

Our last pick is used on another WR who can fly down the field, but who barely knows how to spell route tree, much less run one.

After teppers soft play that maybe rhule gets six years they're borrowing a 2nd or 3rd from next year to move up at some point.

This draft is "thin on talent" which means these dumbfucks will want more picks in it.
