There aren't many standout QB's right now for 2022 though. One or two could always emerge of course, but this 2021 class is much better.

I still think a trade back for more picks then take a project QB wouldn't be the worst idea. Mond/Trask/Newman/Ehlinger are all intriguing and would be outside the first round picks.

That's why go for broke and get top dog(s), or save picks and not go at all is the best choices, imo.

Sincere question: were many, if any, of the top 2-3 Qb's now projected to be good NFL starters, other than Lawrence, before last college season commenced?

For Every P Manning, there are several Tim Couch types.
Always a crap shoot to draft and miss on a QB at the top of the draft

    Burrow? Who knows
    Mayfield? Who knows

The new Burrow is Zach Wilson, coming out of nowhere to rise near the top of the draft

It is a 50% chance for SF and they gave up the world on that kind of bet. Would scare me long term

I agree with staying put, unless some moronic GM doesn’t demand too many #1’s and some of our better players.

NFL quarterback is the most overvalued commodity in America. I'm not even sure there's a close second.

I would love to see Sewell fall to 8, but can’t see it. If not, then Slater. At #8, the only other picks outside a true stud QB that make sense are Surtain or Parsons, IMHO.

Interesting that Jones was in the 'and the rest' section at least.

I'm guessing you're asking cause the ranking system seems to be: make a list preseason wait for player to fail out of it add hot names. yeah its a weird trend.

The schrodinger's NFL QB that is draft picks. I'm all for getting lots of lottery tickets but the acquisition of picks as an end unto itself is getting ridiculous

Sewell, Slater, Parsons, Pitts, etc, etc.
There will be an impact player there at 8

    Worst case scenario for Carolina:
They decide to trade up to 5 (at great expense) just after Lawrence goes to the Jags . . ... Then Lawrence is the only QB picked in the first 4 picks. To add insult to injury Denver (the only other team to take a QB in the top 10) takes either Fields or Wilson and claims that whichever it is was their guy from the start.
And yes, it’s still my opinion that Lawrence is the ONLY QB worth taking in the top 10 of this draft. )

Second worst . ... They stay at 8 and pick ANY QB not named Lawrence.

Third worst. .. They stay at 8 and DO pick a QB named Lawrence, but it’s some unknown backup QB from Rice.
Okay THAT would probably be the worst I guess. )
