The Colts moved on from Brissett for a reason.

so what is the reason? I remember the guy playing well for NE prior to trade then well in Ind when called on. I know the guy is not high caliber but would he be any worse than TB for 2021? I recall him playing with PASHUN and being a tough dude (the black Fitz damnit!).

That's the point though isn't it, he's no worse than Teddy. We would have just kept Teddy happy if that's the level we wanted at QB. Why swap him for someone that's no better or worse?

It's clear that Tepper wants a franchise calibre guy though and he doesn't want to wait for one, so I really don't see that Brissett makes any sense.

no that’s not the point. TB choked and Brissett would be better on 3rd downs, in the red zone, and at the end of games.
On a 1 yr deal Brissett would have something to prove. TB got paid and got lethargic. IMO teddys “physical limitation” was all that guilty $$$$ weighing him down.

Franchise QB, if tepper “doesn’t want to wait for one” then why is anyone considering that carolina would draft a rookie QB?

Russell Wilson has a lot of say in where he goes, if he goes, and Carolina is not on the list. That being said, I would rather have Russell Wilson than Pete Carroll. I don't think Wilson is traded this year (2021) but I do think it is higher possibility next year when his cap hit is less and Pete Carroll continues to override his OC and run an offense from the 1980's.

If he goes anywhere, it seems like the Raiders would be a perfect fit, personality-wise. Trade for maybe Carr and 2 firsts. Wilson could just cook all day long and do whatever he wants. I'm not sure the rest of the team is that much of an upgrade though.

But Gruden would definitely listen to Wilson, which is what he really wants, more than Pete Carroll seems to want to.

It's obvious Tepper isn't keen to wait otherwise why go in for Stafford and be all over Watson while actually stating from Fitterer that we'll be in on every QB trade. There's nobody other than media saying we're going QB in the draft and not all of them are either. There's plenty saying we'll go for other positions so we'll have to wait and see to answer your first part.

I just don't get your thing with Brissett at all. Surely if we're getting a placeholder in then we would just keep Teddy.

    It makes zero sense.

Getting rid of Teddy right now just reeks of desperation. It's only been 1 year and I am aware that he hasn't owned the 4th quarter.
But I still say if the MLB and secondary issues are tweaked and addressed that alone would be enough to have a winning season.
    Then again IMHO.
